Mega bloks Dora's Big Backyard Adventures

My 3 yr old loves this item. She can make many different scenes using the parts and the picture card,but mostly she just does what she wants with the pieces. Allows her to create her own backyard adventures and stories. Was a bit pricey but has lots of uses.

My girls are 2 and aren't ready to build the structures, or leave them intact, for that matter. They do love to carry the figures around. My 4 year old son does enjoy building and playing with the structures when no one is around to destroy them. I'm sure the girls will grow into that.

This set is nice in that they can all share it.

I Bought this for my Grandaughter's 2nd B'day, along w/ "Ultimate Lego Duplo Building Set" & "Lego Duplo Basic Bricks". She has played with all of them for hours a day....everyday since I purchased them in Feb.
This set is great for learning strategy, role play and creativity.
Extremely sturdy and easy to consolidate pieces for storage at the end of the day.

Our Granddaughter, who is 4, loves Dora. Since this has several configurations, it stimulates her creative juices.

I got this for my 2 year old son for Christmas. He loves Dora the Explorer, and he loves "houses", so I figured he'd enjoy this toy. He does like it, but the key problem is that it's not sturdy at all. It's more like Legos, so an adult must first build the house. It doesn't stay together very well at all though, so more often than not it's in pieces in his bedroom. I like the idea, and the price is good, but it's probably better for a 3 or 4 year old Dora fan.

I bought this set in conjunction with "Dora's Buildable House", and they work very well together, with my 4 year-old daughter using pieces from this set in the house and vice versa. It probably wouldn't be enough on its own to sustain a child's interest for very long, as there simply aren't enough pieces. It seems very well made, and is compatible with Duplo and even (small) Lego.

One nice thing to note is that the Dora gfigures in this set and "Dora's Buidable House" have different hair styles and clothes - so it's not like you're doubling up. With my girls ones is now "Dora" and the other has become "Dora's sister".
