You also have the option to stop the changing colors on any one color by pressing the small push button located on the base of the light. There is also an automatic photo sensor built in to turn the light ON at dusk and OFF at dawn. The LED bulb is guaranteed to last a lifetime. The design is upscale and looks like a piece of crystal. this is very nicely made, has the ability to choose a color light you like best (locks into that colors brightest setting), and a sensitive eye that turns if off during the day or when room light is on. Costco has them in 5-packs for $15, but if you only need the one, Amazon's the place to be especially if you need another $6 order to get free shipping. this item is great for arts&crafts projects as you can use paint or even a sharpie to make a design on the clear plastic, that will then throw shadows and glow at night, sweeeeet.

I had been looking for a nightlight for my bedroom; specifically one that was bright enough for me to check on my sleeping baby. Most nightlights are barely bright enough to show you the way to the bathroom. This one, from across the room, is bright enough I can peek into the crib and see him asleep, awake and whether or not he is breathing (yes, I am a paranoid mom). The light isn't so bright that it will keep someone who is a light sleeper awake either. Plus, the color cycles take the light from fairly dark to very light.
