3.0 out of 5 stars Nice but imperfection exists!
If we want to list the salient aspects of this model over other models by the same manufacturer, we should mention:
1. Photo Sensor
2. Push button to stop color change
3. 7 colors
4. Smooth color change

5.0 out of 5 stars really cool night light that has everything, January 29, 2006

this is very nicely made, has the ability to choose a color light you like best (locks into that colors brightest setting), and a sensitive eye that turns if off during the day or when room light is on. Costco has them in 5-packs for $15, but if you only need the one, Amazon's the place to be especially if you need another $6 order to get free shipping. this item is great for arts&crafts projects as you can use paint or even a sharpie to make a design on the clear plastic, that will then throw shadows and glow at night, sweeeeet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Light, January 18, 2010

I had been looking for a nightlight for my bedroom; specifically one that was bright enough for me to check on my sleeping baby. Most nightlights are barely bright enough to show you the way to the bathroom. This one, from across the room, is bright enough I can peek into the crib and see him asleep, awake and whether or not he is breathing (yes, I am a paranoid mom). The light isn't so bright that it will keep someone who is a light sleeper awake either. Plus, the color cycles take the light from fairly dark to very light.

1. Photo Sensor
2. Push button to stop color change
3. 7 colors
4. Smooth color change

After using it for some time, it began to display and change only between THREE colors:
1. Green
2. Cyan
3. Blue
and then it turns off for a few seconds!

The other FOUR colors aren't displayed at all! Unplugging it for some hours and then plugging it back does NOT solve the problem.

I'm not sure whether mine has this problem or this is a generic issue with the device.

With that said the last two features are not there in full for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very cool and useful!, August 2, 2006
This review is from: Megabrite LED Color Changing Night Light with Photo Sensor (Health and Beauty)
These lights are very nice for the price. I just got them recently and will be getting rid of my old standard lightbulb nightlight. The color changing is very cool, and it is easy to stop and pick a color whenever you want. There is also a darkness sensor on them, so they go off when it gets light out. The brightness is pretty good, though not as bright as the standard incandescent bulb, but bright enough. The colors are very nice, I like the purple and blue. You could get several and turn them red, and pretend you are on a submarine! Will be buying several more right now!

I purchased this as an alternative to an earlier model i saw in a friend's house. The 'original' Megabrite MB-NL9A1-5 looked like a jewel which threw rays of lite all over the room and has been discontinued..

By contrast, this is just an irritating monster. The colors rotate too fast, with a fade to black that feels as if i were being hit on the nose with a spoon every few seconds.

If i were epileptic, i would suspect this thing would drive me to seizures.

Please bring back the discontinued model.

Thanks,

-Bobby Koch

5.0 out of 5 stars So smart!, April 1, 2009

This night light is so smart! It turns on and off by itself, depending on how dark or bright it is in the room. It has many color options that kids and big adult kids will enjoy the choices that it gives. It's definitely not your ordinary night light!

I bought five of these night lights from Megabrite in a package from a different vendor. Two of them failed within 10 months. So much for a guaranteed lifetime. Fortunately, I received a full refund since the package stated "guaranteed replacement within one year at store of purchase".

No complaints here. We just plug this nightlight in and pick a color we want. There are so many color choices that it is almost hard to decide. Once we decided on the color, we set it and never have to think about it. It's plugged into the wall and turns on when it's dark and off when it's light. Easy peasy.
