This review is from: Megan (Mass Market Paperback)
Megan Watkins was a country girl came to London to be a companion to her cousin, Diane, until the cousin finds a husband. The spoiled Diane soon saw a use for her cousin when she began a fast friendship with the Honorable Jane Atherton, the sister of the dashing--and so far unattainable--lord on whom Diane had set her sights. For if Diane could cultivate their friendship, she was certain she'd often be thrown in the company of the handsome Alex, Lord Atherton. What no one counted on was that Alex and Megan grew to attract and appreciated of one another.
This was a well-written story with characters that you eventually like them all. The weakness of this story, I felt, was that hero and heroine spent little time together (it was often shared with other characters than with each other); I also felt it was too bad that Ms. Clark did not show more spirit and intelligence of Megan. But I loved the ending very much: it was tender, moving, and sweet. A wonderful and satisfying way to end the romance novel. |
