Fantastic!,

This type of music is both refreshing and very catchy. The vocals, the accompaniment, the beat and the lyrics are all very memorable and very well-composed. The combination of English songs and French songs make this one hell of a great CD. The songs do have a slight pop-ish feel to them, but that doesn't take anything away from their general sound.Projet Orange is for real (I have to remember to spell Projet without a "c", heh) and this CD is definitely worth a look for any rock music fan.

The album's song listing is typically missing from Amazon.ca (which is quite annoying). So here it is:1 Megaphobe

Great band from Quebec,

I became aware of Projet Orange when they made their music video for the SAAQ (Quebec's Vehicle Board) which tells the true story of a teenager who died while speed racing on a rural road. The video is shocking and quite frankly the music just made the whole experience surreal. The music was fresh. The voice and the music were great. Then, about four years later, I hear a catchy song on my local radio: "Tell All Your Friends". The voice and the music had the same quality; the production was familiar but I knew the band was from Quebec city so I could not believe the same guys were getting airplay in Ottawa. Well Projet Orange were trying to break through in the Anglophone market! Curiosity got the best of me and I purchased both Megaphobe and Projet Orange's self-titled album. What can I say? They are both superb! The quality of the production is amazing, yet it retains a little raw element in it. The sound on both albums is much more diverse than I expected going from a crooner's jazzy "La Pomme" to pop with "Tell All Your Friends" and edgier rock like "S'etend l'amer". I strongly recommend. |
