I got this submarine for Christmas and I was so excited about it. I drove it around in the bathtub with the lights in the bathroom off and the little submarine lit up the whole bathtub! This isn't a very fast sub, but it is still really fun! If you have a pool this would be a great toy because of how far down it can go and still be in range of the transmitter. I have had no problems with this sub and it is just so fun to relax and control a little sub around in my fishtank with all the lights off. The submarine is very manuaverable and responsive to the transmitter. You only have to charge the submarine for 2 hours instead of most RC toys having to be charged for 4 hours. Megatech says it only gets 15 minutes of battery life but it really has a battery life of about 25 minutes. The one thing that is less than desirable is that when the submarine gets old and will not hold a charge anymore, you can't just buy a new battery because the battery is inside the Sub. For this reason do not overcharge it. But otherwise this is very fun and I would definitly recommend it.

This toy blows all the other subs out of the water, when i first got it for my birthday i put the batteries in and bam it already worked. Although it needs to be charged for 2 hours it is real fun to drive around the pool, aquarium, or pond. WARNING (do not user in salt water!)

Really cool!,

This submarine is so cool! You charge it up then just plug in the top piece and it goes underwater like a real submarine. I used it in our pool outside. It goes down up to 6 feet underwater! I could see it fine even though it is small because of the lights. Then my friend went in teh pool with goggles on to watch it while I controlled it. It was so much fun!
It lasts a long time too. it takes a while to charge it up again though but not too bad. It is compeltely sealed too so no water can even get inside of it. It really works so good. I want to try it in my friend's fish tank.

THis is a very good RC sub. i have used it in my aquarium where it manuevers freely in the small environment. the only problem is that it is hard to manuver it in moving water such as a pool.

Well I recieved my ...toy today, put in the batteries, charged the sub for 6 hours, and bam it doesnt work. Called tech support and left a message, I am still waiting for them to call me back. So, I sent them an email, Still waiting for their reply. I returned it to Amazon (which was verry fast (great service)). however the "new" replacement from Megatech was dead right out of the box. Two dead submarines right out of the box in a row. Mr Deans (manager at Megatech does not return voice mail, so if you have a sub, and it has problems, I suggest getting your money back.I hope you all have better luck with Megatech

You have got to be seriously kidding (!)If you don't fall in love with this and never stop thinking of what to do with this toy!If maintained and handled properly this thing will do amazing shows in the POOL!(dont even consider salt water-think about it(SALT CORRODES!!)dont worry so much about the clorine of the pool affecting the signal ,it has a strong 12 volt portable hand held transmiter on 27mhz FM and will run silent down to six feet below forward / reverse/left / right/surface / submerge it takes a few lessons but you will get the hang of the controls quick!shure its small but what a show!!you could not do this with ANY OTHER TOY before you got this one!! this little dude has lights all over it,so dont tell me you cant see it in the pool!NOW what WE did was buy a little 13 inch plastic model of the submarine "SEAVIEW"and build it up paint it and attach this little dude to the bottom of it and if you know what your doin and follow a researched plan of building this can be some POOL SHOW!!AND even if YOU DON'T have that SAVVY and just want to take it out of the box, read the instructions ,and run it in the pool HEY your just NOT gonna be dissapointed at all!this thing is just to much fun for the word"dissapointment" to be used when talking about this fish tank/pool mini sub! Hooray for MEGATECH!they hit a HOME RUN!!

I purchased two of these in 2005 for my sons while I was deployed. The first as a gift for the youngest and the second, because an older brother broke the first on purpose to anger the other. By the time I had gotten home the second was dysfunctional.
Here is the life pattern of a remote control device in my home. Item is purchased, Item is charged, Item is used until charge wears out, Item is charged, Child becomes bored waiting for charge, Item is used until charge wears out, If battery only needed for charge, battery is removed for charge and device is used with imagination / if whole device needed for charging children will use it without charge. Device dies a horrible death of "do you think it can do this?" I thus rate the RC's by the number of times they were recharged. This one did well, but did not structurally and physically survive the waiting periods for charging.

My 6-year old son put this on his Santa list and received it for Christmas. Of course, he has to share with his 7-year-old brother. I personally wasn't too impressed with its agility, but the boys seem to be able to get it to do everything they want it to do. On the top of the sub, there is a small plastic piece that fits over the charging connection to protect it under water, and it also serves as an on/off switch. A spare comes in the package; however, I was not looking to use the spare on the first day out of the box. So, when my 7-year-old dropped the piece in the deep end of the pool on Christmas afternoon (we live in Florida), my 6-year-old was suddenly brave enough to dive to the bottom of the deep end to get it so he could run his sub again. The water was still a little chilly, although it was a mild day, so with goggles on and towel ready, he took a few deep breaths and went for it. As for safety, you have to watch the propellers, since they are quite sharp. But my boys have been very carefully about holding it away from the props and not turning it on when the other is holding the sub, etc.. They love playing "Titanic Exploration" by taking it to the bottom of the pool and circling toy ships they have sunk. For responsible children who won't throw it around, touch the props, or lose the little plastic cover (like we almost did), I would recommend it VERY highly.

The description of this toy doesn't tell you that it's only about 2 inches by 3 inches! You can't even see it in the pool. The description only tells you the size of the BOX. We were very disappointed when we opened the box; in fact, we thought they had forgotten to put the submarine in the box! It was so little we didn't see it at first.

I have to agree with the last reviewer. The sub arrived with decals rather messy and the item looked slightly used. It worked to some extent for ONE use. Then it was useless. THIS PRODUCT WAS TREATED WITH KIT GLOVES. We followed all directions.
