Megatech Party Blimp, with Music, Lights and Stencils

My almost-13-year old really wanted this blimp for Christmas. Unfortunately, when he opened it Christmas morning, one of the propellers and its small engine were broken off in the box. Emailing with Megatech was a little frustrating until I realized that a different tech person reads your replies. If you have a problem, copy all emails each time you respond. They did finally agree to a return. I paid for shipping back. They returned a new blimp at no cost, but it took a month. When my son started assembling the new blimp, one of the "stalks" to which the side propellers and their engines are attached broke off. I saw it happen, and it literally broke in his hand. He was being careful, and doing nothing unsual. We could have both cried, but super glue resolved the problem so that he was finally able to use the blimp. Now that it's up and running, we're all impressed. It's huge (much larger appearing than the illustration) and maneuvers very well. The lights and music choices make it really smile-worthy. I'd give it 5 stars, if not for the problems with it breaking. We have high ceilings, which is good, because the blimp would be very vulnerable outside. It's very light weight (out of necessity, I imagine) and probably not for younger children as it would never stand up to any rough treatment. It's not as sleek as the ilustration, either, with fold wrinkles across the balloon portion, although maybe it could be blown up very tightly for something closer to that effect. Don't forget you'll need to buy helium, and a tank runs around $20.

I got this for my daughter's 3rd birthday party and it was very entertaining for children and adults alike. My advice is that you need to read the manual carefully. Blimp is very delicate and light so be careful flying around children, they think it's a balloon and handle it very roughly. It's great for high ceiling indoor location, make sure you weigh down and balance the blimp by inserting coins in the gondola and turn off any ceiling fan as it rip and torn the balloon part of my blimp. I've salvaged the gondola and bought a new replacement blimp 52 inch Replacement Silver Blimp Balloon Envelope For All Mach RC Airships FREE Shipping for future use. Overall, I enjoy this product and my guests were entertained. It was a huge big hit with such a simple contraption.

This product is intended for adults only. My son found this online because he loves blimps and wanted it to play with. The balloon that was sent was only for one time use and was way over priced for that purpose. My boy popped it within the first hour and was extremely upset. Also the balloon was NOT shaped like a blimp but like an egg. My advise for this product is DO NOT BUY IT!. I is way over priced and is completely NOT WORTH IT!!!! IT does not look like the picture AT ALL.

I bought this for my son's 6 year birthday. Everybody wanted to play with it. Instead of drawing on the sides of the blimp, I just taped color printouts on the sides saying Happy Birthday, and that seemed to be enough additional weighting to keep the blimp relatively balanced. The blimp is egg shaped and not an oval like in the picture, and it was much bigger than I thought it would be, but those really don't take away from the fun. The hidden cost is getting the helium to fill the blimp. You could go to a florist or department or grocery store that has a balloon section, but I didn't want to risk it getting loose and ending up in the ceiling, so I bought a retail disposable party helium tank for about $20. The skin of the blimp retains the helium well, so the helium should last as long as it would in a mylar balloon which should be at least a week. You should probably also stock up on the 3V battery that goes in the gondola because people will have the fan engines going almost constantly playing with it.

My Granddaughter loved this Blimp. She picked it out and could hardly wait for it to arrive. It was the hit of her Birthday party.

When I received this funny toys "Party blimp" , it is very easy to build & can be played soon.
it is easy to control , I guess it can be play for my sun .
He also feel so fun.
although , it has some delay to delivery to me at the beginning of shipment.
but Amazon supported to change delivery method , so it is few delay.

I was the director for a non-professional production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (musical) and needed a blimp for the Vulgarian blimp where "Grandpa" is carried away in his outhouse. We were going to fly the blimp around the theater but had a problem keeping it high enough. Maybe we didn't have enough helium in it to keep it up high. We painted the Vulgarian crest on it and it looked great for the one scene we had it in! We actually filled it with helium and pulled it across the stage and the effect was perfect - the audience was rolling in their seats with laughter. So mission accomplished. If we had had more time, we could have played around with actually flying it, but it worked great for our requirement. It did actually fly when we tested it, but it seemed a little slow to move around and kept losing altitude. Great little blimp for the price though!

My 5 year old loved this gift. Its an r/c balloon. While not real durable it has held up just fine, I mean kind of hard to crash a helium balloon. The balloon that comes with this set is kind of cheesy lookin though. I bought 2 of the Goodyear year replacement balloons and after a month the first is still working great. Dont use outside. Great product, fun for kids and adults. I would have give it 5 stars if the balloon that came with the kit was nicer looking. Oh and it does not play the Happy Birthday song.

This toy is so flimsy that it is basically disposable. Also, the motors that "drive" it are barely effective- especially to raise and lower the airship. I would never get this for a child, they would certainly be frustrated and disappointed. I would reccomend not buying this item for any reason. I have seen airships that look like this at events like basketball games- often dropping T-shirts to the crowd. Those were awesome. This toy is nothing like those blimps.
