Great item,
This review is from: Megatronix - MGT - Magnetic Reed Switch, Normally Open (N/O) And Normally Closed (N/C) - Ideal For Doors, Windows, Garages, Gates, Truck Beds, Etc
The quality is really nice, not that cheap feeling to it. The packaging was also good as well. Many diversified uses for this: gates, doors, windows, etc. Normally opened and normally closed. Most units on the market are just for one or the other.

I needed this to replace the sensor portion of an open-garage-door indicator light which I had purchased from Sears maybe 25 years ago. The other sensor had been smashed when the door tracks were replaced by a technician not familiar with my improvements. It took me three mail order attempts to get the proper switch due to my misunderstanding of what "normally open" and "normally closed" means for a magnetic switch of this type. [It turns out that, even though the door is almost always closed and thus the switch is almost always in the field of the magnet, the descriptive literature thinks of the "normal" state as being when the magnet is removed, i.e., the door is open.] I finally came across this switch that has both NO and NC states, so that it can be made to work no matter what is the NO and NC convention. It installed easily and works fine.
