I should have called and enquired about this product. Basically I was looking for something that has upper case, lower case letters and numbers together. Going by the no of pieces I thought it includes all of them. The description is not clear and I am disappointed as I was specifically looking for lower case letters. However I think this is a good one in terms of education, storage (everything gets stored in that little box) and is sturdy enough.

I wish I had been able to see some reviews before I bought this. I was looking for a magnetic board to work on building words with my 4 year old son. I saw this and thought the bonus shapes and chalk was cute and would make it tons more fun for him.

Pros- My son does really like it. Like any magnetic board it does the trick in visually helping him learn to read and put words together. There is a good amount of other shapes to make cool pictures too. There are numbers although he is a little young to really be using those yet.

Con- The tray is too shallow to hold all the letters/shapes. You have to position everything in it JUST so to get the cover to fit. The container feature was the majority of why I bought this thing. It barely closes and will pop off all the time.

Also, the chalk doesn't write on the board that well.

It's a good toy but annoys me daily. So you have to decide it you want to put up with that. It would be awesome if it contained everything better.

I love how many pieces this toy has. It comes with plenty of letters, numbers and shapes to use for making pictures or spelling out words. There are even some math symbols in there. My only complaint is that some of the pieces don't have a very big magnet on them so they don't stick as well as I would like. Our pieces all fit in the tray just fine, and the lid seems to stay on securely enough. All in all, I'm pleased with the purchase and would recommend it.
