The Megger 235303 tool and appliance tester is a portable tester that evaluates the safety of electrical equipment. The unit conducts ground continuity, leakage current, and electrical insulation tests. This analog tester has manual test selection. A front-panel National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) 5-15, 15A receptacle on the front of the unit allows the appliance or tool being tested to be plugged in. The unit conducts ground checks with a 0.10 ohm threshold and measures leakage current from 0 to 10mA. The insulation breakdown test uses 0 to 3,000V alternating current (AC) test current. The unit conducts complete Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) testing of appliances and electrical tools in under a minute. The 235303 is commonly used by electricians and electrical contractors.
|Power supply ||120V AC electrical outlet|
|Ground continuity threshold ||0.1 ohm|

Component testers evaluate the safety and performance of electrical tools and appliances. The testers evaluate the grounding, current leakage, insulation resistance, and other electrical features. These testers work by providing a test current at a specific level, which is used to ensure that the appliance can be operated safely. Some testers may be pre-set to test the appliance or tool to a certain standard, such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL) or American National Standards Institute (ANSI) specifications and may include automatic or manual selection of test currents or voltages.
Megger manufactures equipment for cable fault locating, protective relay testing, telecommunications and data integrity, and power quality testing under multiple brand names, among them Megger, Biddle, States, and AVO. The company, founded in 1889, is headquartered in Dover, England, and meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 standards.
