A Unique Tale . Beautifully Written , Wonderfully Unique,
By B.J.W. (Scotland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Meggie's Journeys (Paperback)
This book is not as grand and breathtaking as the Lord of the Rings nor is it as commercialised and shallow as the Rowling books but it is truly captivating.Based around a young Celtic girl growing up . She is the whipering voice within us all that sings to us of the mystery and wonders of nature. She jouneys to other worlds , the elemental kingdoms of dreams and imagination ,where she learns the wisdom of the Sidhe and gains four gifts which awaken her magical powers. It is a truly inspiring book written with a skill , artistry and a depth of true emotion so lacking in many famous authors these days. Reading it once is just not enough , because , like all good books , you just have to read it again and immerse yourself in the world that she has so carefully and lovingly created. The scenes and imagery which she has skillfully crafted are so vivid and detailed that you can just close your eyes and imagine them as if they were there all around you. Her tragic and sudden death in January 2000 means that this will be her only work but it a truly wonderful book which will appeal to young and old alike. If you can track down a copy you will have the passport to another magical world written by an extremely talented and beautiful young Lady. |
