Product Description

Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax uses Meguiar's ThinFilm technology to deliver our easiest application and removal…even if you have to wax in full sun! We've re-set the bar with a pure synthetic wax that provides extended protection with amplified reflectivity that won't leave a white residue on trim and plastic.

Amazon.com

Meguiar’s Ultimate Liquid Wax features Meguiar's ThinFilm technology, which makes this an easy wax to apply and remove; even in full sun. Its advanced, synthetic wax polymers provide extended protection with amplified reflectivity that won't leave a white residue on the vehicle’s trim and plastic. Meguiar’s Ultimate Liquid Wax is suitable for any paint type, including clear coats, and will enhance the color and depth of the vehicle’s paint. Meguiar’s proprietary Hydrophobic Polymer Technology increases surface tension so water beads and rolls right off. A pure synthetic, Ultimate Wax provides the longest lasting protection, delivers the deepest, darkest reflections and a glossy wet look, and is safe on all glossy paints and clear coats.

Before Waxing – Preparing the Vehicle's Paint Surface

For best results, start with a freshly washed, and if needed, clayed vehicle. Use any Meguiar’s wash, like Ultimate Wash and Wax and Meguiar’s Smooth Surface Clay Kit to remove any above surface contaminants from the paint.

A Few Tips About Applying Ultimate Wax

One of the biggest mistakes people make when applying a wax is that they apply it too heavily. This only prolongs drying time, making the wax more difficult to remove, and using more product than necessary. No matter how heavy a wax is applied, once it's dry only so much will adhere or bond to the paint of the vehicle.

Professional results every time

Because of the unique chemistry employed with Meguiar's Ultimate Waxes, apply the wax one section at a time and then remove it after 3-5 minute initial cure time. Ultimate Wax’s ThinFilm technology and synthetic polymers allow the wax to be removed even if it has not fully dried. For the easiest removal, use a clean, dry microfiber polishing cloth, like Meguiar's Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel or a 100% cotton terry towel. Please be aware that low temperatures and/or high humidity can prolong the initial curing time of Ultimate Wax.

Quik Tip: One way to tell if the wax is dry and ready to be wiped off is by performing the Swipe Test. Run an index finger across the wax and if the wax smears, it is not ready to be wiped off. However, if it's a clear swipe, the wax can now be removed.

Applying Ultimate Wax

For best results, apply in the shade to a clean, cool surface one section at a time, allowing 3-5 minutes of initial cure time before removing Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax.

By Hand:

  • 1. Using the included applicator, apply a coat of Meguiar’s Ultimate Wax directly onto the black waxing pad.
  • 2. Place the face of the pad flat on the vehicle’s paint and with light pressure in overlapping, circular patterns spread the wax onto the vehicle’s paint surface.
  • 3. A second pass over is recommended to insure even coverage. Let cure for 3 – 5 minutes before wiping of with a clean Meguiar’s Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel, turning to a clean side for the final wipe.
  • 4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 as needed to complete the rest of the vehicle.

By Dual Action Polisher or DA Power System:

  • 1. Attach the appropriate “waxing” pad to the Meguiar’s DA Power System (G3509) or Meguiar’s DA Polisher (W9207).
  • 2. Apply a coat of Meguiar’s Ultimate Wax directly onto the black waxing pad.
  • 3. Place the face of the pad flat on the paint. Turn on the Meguiar’s DA Power System drill or Meguiar’s DA Polisher and begin buffing with light pressure in an overlapping pattern while keeping the pad flat against the paint at all times.
  • 4. Complete one section at a time, allowing the wax to initially cure for 3 – 5 minutes before removal.
  • 5. Wipe off with a clean Meguiar’s Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel, turning to a clean side for the final wipe.
  • 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5, applying more Ulitmate Wax as needed to complete the rest of the vehicle.
What's in the Box?

Customer Reviews

Easy to apply and very easy to remove.

I've used the Meguiar's Ultimate Spray Wax, Ultimate Liquid Wax and Ultimate Paste Wax and this was the worst, the other two products were great.
Jason
Once the wax was good and dry, it buffed off easily with a good microfiber towel.

This is an excellent product that produces a truly amazing and long-lasting shine. The key is to let it dry for an hour or so before buffing with the included micro-fiber towel. If you let it dry for only a few minutes, you may get streaks. Wait an hour, and the buffing is a cinch, easier than any other wax I have used. While the instructions say you can apply it in full sun, I do it in the garage. As with any wax, you need to make sure the surface is clean and smooth before applying it. If the surface is dirty or oxidized of course you will get crappy results.

Holds up to Florida's weather (sun, rain, etc.) and still has the shine and durability. Thank you Maguire's Ultimate Liquid wax.

I used the product on my BLACK SL63 AMG BENZ.. I apply the wax in small sections as opposed to waxing entire car.. Use the product when outside temp is around 70 - 80 degrees. Make sure you apply it in the shade... I do not recommend using the wax in the sun when the car surface temp is boiling.., After letting wax sit for 5 minutes not more..(yes then it gets harded to wipe off), just wipe clean with black cloth provided. The wax makes a black gloss painted car look like a mirror. Now we will see how long and how many car washes it can take.. So far, I have driven in a pouring rain and the water does not even touch the car.. Amazon price is also very competitive. I bought three bottles.. Box comes with black foam applicator and excellent black wiping cloth..

As far a ease of waxing I find it to be extremely easy. I have a new truck ( fire red ) and have been a NXT user but wanted to test something different . I applied and removed exactly as recommend on thin off in 3 to 5 min. And repeat the same panel the exact same. Layed down perfect. No tapeing off molding or taking extreme care next to molding. I think the secret is in the second coat. And why not. It is super fast process due to the ease of removing and not having to be careful near trim work. It's not carnauba and doesn't need to be treated like it. I see people saying to leave it on for a extended amount of time and it is not designed for that. It's a different process wax on wax off repeat simple. As far as it having a polish effect I feel you still need a good polish. I tried a spot first without polish and it did not help small defects and when polishing it solved that problem (ultimate polish not deep crystal). As far a longevity I will have to see.

The key to successfully using this product is to apply it extremely thin, applying it to thick causes streaking, and is hard to remove. With 1 bottle and being wasteful, I can get at least 20 applications. This equates to less then 1oz of Wax...

Highly recommend this wax for anyone that keeps a car outside 24/7. Holds up extremly well under high temperatures.

I've used meguiars products for several years having good results with most of the products. I've had really good results with meg's nxt 2.0 its easy to apply and easy to remove with very little to no streaks left behind. I decided that i wanted to try the meg's ultimate liquid wax. I purchased the wax at the local auto parts store for appx 20 bucks (i kinda cringed at the price) but i was willing to give it a try. I finally got home got my truck all cleaned up and prepared for this wax I read the instructions and did what it told me to do, Im in no way a professional but I've gotten pretty good results with the last meguiars products I've used. The first thing i noticed upon opening this wax was the smooth creamy texture, so right then and there i was thinking man this is gonna be easy on and easy off (applying this by hand)product, boy was wrong about the second part I applied the wax on the first panel (fender) let sit for appx 5-7 minutes before removing,While i was removing the wax i noticed right off the bat this stuff is harder to come off than the nxt 2.0 wax. after wiping and wiping and wiping again i still noticed the panel was streaked up so now i'm thinking man do i really want to do the whole truck (crew cab silverado,Victory red).I kept applying to one panel at a time and It was just damn hard to fully remove this wax I kept noticing the streaking/smearing, now i'm gettin angry cause this is not the results i was expecting to get. I finally got the whole truck waxed and noticed the actual shine has more depth and clarity than the nxt 2.0 (I was happy about that) but i had to go back over the whole truck with meguiars quick detailer spray to remove the left over streaks/smears.Read more ›

I'm a fan of Meguiars, but this "wax" is nothing short of fantastic. I was very careful to apply and polish the car in the shade, and kept my rags very clean to avoid scratching the wax or finish. For me, the secret was not to try to work too large a section at a time. I applied it with an electric polisher after first dusting the finish to make sure any microscopic boulders weren't on the finish. After applying the polish, I let it sit for nor more than two minutes, then I wiped it off with a clean microfiber cloth. I did not try to polish or shine it during this step. Next, I did polish it with a different, larger, microfiber towel. The finish looked fantastic at this point. All this is per the directions on the bottle. But as a finishing touch, after I had polished the entire car, I snapped on the polishing pad on my electric buffer and LIGHTLY buffed the whole thing again. This extra step took only about five minutes, and it seemed to add just a bit more shine. However, the finish would have still looked fantastic even if I had not buffed it this last step. As with any good "wax" job there will be some elbow grease involved, but this synthetic polymer seemed to go on and off much easier than traditional waxes. It left no streaks, as long as I removed it after it dried about two minutes. When I left it on longer than that, it seemed harder to remove. But, if you follow the instructions........ Yes, my car is black.
