The Needs of a White Color Car

Waxes for white and light colored cars, benefit most from a formula that provides "brigthness" to the paint to give it a clean and clear reflection. This specially formulated wax is designed to make your paint shine with the help of its cleaning agents, delivering a show car finish.

With Meguiar’s White Wax, you will be able to take the guess-work out of waxing, remove light oxidation and contaminants, clean while you wax for a brilliant finish, and add long lasting wax protection.

Before Applying White Wax

Before working on your car with the Meguiar's White Wax, begin by washing with a wash formulated for cars like Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner (sold separately) and drying your car thoroughly. If surfaces are rough to the touch, you may want to clay your car using Meguiar’s Smooth Surface Clay Kit (sold separately) first.

Applying White Wax

For best results, apply to a freshly washed and dried surface that is cool and in the shade. White Wax may be applied by hand, Dual Action (DA) Polisher or with Meguiar’s DA Power System (sold separately).

  • 1. Apply a small amount of product to the included foam applicator pad (hand), or directly to either a polishing or waxing foam pad (DA). Using moderate pressure, work the product into the paint making 2 to 4 overlapping passes. If applying by hand, use a tight, circular pattern. Dull, neglected paint may benefit from more passes.
  • 2. Work one section at a time until the vehicle has been completed. Allow the product to dry to a haze, then use a premium towel like Meguiar’s Supreme Shine microfiber (sold separately) or 100% cotton terry towel to remove the product.
  • 3. Turn to a clean portion of the towel for final wipe off, buffing to a brilliantly bright shine that lasts.

Customer Reviews

Super easy to apply.

The wax itself is a bit gritty, and I do wish the tube included more product.

Meguiar's has now got my attention. I have bought some other product from them. Out of five, four of them worked for me. Love the color of this. Didn't think this wax would improve the look. I was looking for something that was white wax. Glad I got this one. I have a shiny white vehicle. Not a dull one. The price was great as well.

I saw this mentioned on a web forum to which I belong. I have a Pearl White Can- Am Spyder, and thought I'd give it a try. Wow, does it glow . . . really makes it pop. This may be my wax of choice from now on.

I love to detail my white car. Two of the main issues however, is A) a wax that works for my paint, and B) a wax that is visible (when hazed) on my white car. I have used a number of waxes and sealants from a variety of companies; armor all, Meguiar's, griot's and chemical guys. For the most part, I love using Griot's sealant, and Chemical guys wax. Meguiar's Ultimate wax would be nice is it didn't haze clear. Nonetheless, I chose to pick up the Meguiar's White wax. Here is what I found:

Pros:
-Applies very smooth and evenly
-protects surface against water spots
-water beads excellently
-visible when hazed
-removed easily

Cons:
-does not protect against UVA and UVB
-no visible difference between this wax and non color based waxes

As a primary wax, I don't believe I would use this product. Although it is decent, I found that other waxes do a much better job in terms of protection and color. If you like Meguiar's, I would go with the Gold class for a similar dollar amount, or with the Ultimate Wax for a bit more.

Unlike many wax products, this particular product has a very different feeling texture. I decided to try out this product since it contains several chemicals that are not included in typical wax. I used this on a red Honda S2000 and I was very impressed with the results. The paste itself is just like any other synthetic wax, with a little bit of texture. You can feel it when you rub the wax on the paint, a slight abrasive touch. Overall. The product does as advertised. I wish you got a little more product, so I did knock it down a star.

This wax really makes the white on my 2010 Camry SE "pop". I included a photo of the car with only one coat of this wax and one coat of Meg's Professional Sealant 2.0

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Meguiar's new White Wax is a terrific product and don't let the name fool you, it can be used on any color, not just white.

Why is it called white wax? Simple, it helps address a problem most visible on white and lighter colored vehicles. On light vehicles, you can see contaminants on/in the paint more easily. That spec of brown/black that doesn't want to come up, overall dullness, etc. These issues are extremely visible on white and light colored cars.

White wax helps address it because it is a cleaner wax with a heavy dose of cleaning properties, to help remove those contaminants that ruin the look of the paint. Furthermore, it has enough cleaning ability that it could potentially remove very light scratches as well!

What makes it even more powerful is that it includes a terrific applicator. One side is very soft, like you would use to apply any wax, but the other side is soft with just a bit more texture, this gives the product even more "bite," to remove contaminants or light defects. The applicator is great. I have even used the applicator with a more aggressive product to remove scratches.

Truly, I have used white wax on a silver and black vehicle. Meguiar's also makes a new black wax. The black wax can also be used on any color. The black product is called Black Wax because on a black car the contaminants in paint are less visible, so it cuts back on the cleaning/cut, and instead adds more polishing oils. On a black car, polishing oils always add depth to the paint that makes it oh so deep looking, and it can also hide minor imperfections.

Overall, these new White Wax & Black Wax products are great and not for only the colors the name suggests.

A few reviews on here made me a little sceptical, but I bought it anyway. I have a 2013 pearl white maxima which has been waxed monthly using turtle wax.

This white wax really brought out the shine in the paint. The white wax removed ALL contaminates like it was nothing. Far superior to the hard shell waxes. The only thing is, the smell. I can see it being to much for some people. So well ventilated area, or at least hae your garage open while waxing your car.

Enjoy your results!!!! :)

Works quite well, Makes the job of waxing and washing much easier, water simply just runs off and keeps more clean, no more water stains.
