5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect polish/glaze for depth and mirror shine!
I've used many polishes/glazes over the years on all kinds of cars and I can honestly say this is the best polish/glaze I've found on the market. I've used products like P21S, Klasse, and even Sonus and the Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Professional Show Car Glaze #7 is the best I've found.

If you apply this correctly (in multiple coats if your car has old paint)...

3.0 out of 5 stars just ok
I used this on my dark red mustang and did half the car only. I could not tell any difference. Went back and finished the car and it looked great but it look great before using this so not sure what I was gaining.
By reading all the reviews I was expecting a wow factor.
Maybe it does better on older cars but my mustang is not new either but in good shape...

If you apply this correctly (in multiple coats if your car has old paint) then it provides a deep, deep gloss before you apply a wax and/or sealant.

The ONLY negative thing I have to say about this polish/glaze is that it smells like chemicals mixed with bird droppings. I really wish Meguiar's made this stuff smell better. That said, if the bad smell is what I have to live with to get this kind of depth/mirror shine then so be it.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a polish/glaze to add depth to your shine before you apply wax, this is what you need to buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outshines the rest, July 9, 2008

I have to admit I was a little put off when I first tested Show Car Glaze on my victim car (my brother's truck): The paint had been maintained only sparingly, and while Show Car Glaze did bring out a nice wet shine, it wasn't the knock-your-socks-off result I'd been expecting. As I experimented with additional applications, though, his paint popped into action before my eyes. My test panel outshined the others to begin with, but after two applications it was brilliant, and after three it was amazing.

On my own, better maintained vehicle, the results were much more immediate and easy to achieve. Slap on some glaze, buff it off, and whammo--that glassy, slick, wet, mirror shine people shoot for. Throw a wax or sealant on top (I'm partial to Meguiar's NXT synthetic sealant) and the results are well worth the minimal investment in time and money.

I didn't find the smell to be off-putting, but the color of the polish is extremely reminiscent of what you find in an infant's diaper.

If you've maintained your car's paint, Show Car Glaze will easily give you a shine like no other. If your paint's a little rough, give it some TLC and Show Car Glaze can do the same for you. Or to crib from Barry Meguiar of Meguiar's, "Frequent car care is easy car care."

4.0 out of 5 stars I agree with Jerry, April 6, 2008
This review is from: Meguiar's M-0716 Mirror Glaze Professional Show Car Glaze. 16 oz. liquid (Automotive)
I agree with Jerry that the Meguiar's glaze #7 is a very good product. I too have used several different paint cleaning, polishing, glazing and waxing products. I find the Glaze creates a deep reflection in my black paint. The product is not an easy on / off product, so plan some time and have lots of rags for removing the glaze. But the results are worth the time and effort.

Be sure to follow-up with a Meguiar's Gold Wax application and later use the express mist on detail / quick wax prodcut for a continued "wet" shine.

Generally, I like the Meguair's prodcuts - wax's, brushes, towles, liquid car wash and polishes... and the pricing is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Black & White, July 26, 2010

To be fair, if you own a light-colored vehicle, temper your expectations of the Show Car Glaze with what you have. You'll simply never have the deep, wet paint of a darker vehicle - its the trade off when folks with black rides are having to wash them every few days.

That being said, my Pearl-White Lexus GS430 has NEVER looked better than after a coat of Show Car Glaze, and I take care of it meticulously. A good double-wash, clay bar, glaze and NXT 2.0 wax and it literally stands out from pretty much anything else around it, even with such a light-color. Water appears to bead a little better as well, but it could have nothing to do with the polish.

Bottom line, it won't be night and day difference to some eyes, but even my wife (unsolicited, I might add) asked if I had done something different to my car. For those who are somewhat obsessive about having the absolute best-looking finish on their rides, I recommend you adding this step to your regimen. I imagine a bottle of the Show Car Glaze lasting a long time (except maybe on large SUVs), so for the price especially, its one heck-of a bargain.

Meguiars, you've done it again, both improved the look of my car and forced me to spend more time making it so. Thanks. I think.

This polish was recommended by my Martin guitar repair shop for the finish on my Martin D-28 thats 40 years old. It helps remove the haze and build up on the finish without leaving a deposit. Great stuff. I haven't gotten around to using it on my car yet. But I've polished a bunch of things in the house- wood, plexi-glass varnished surfaces.

I have tried all types of waxes and polishes. This is absolutely the best. I have used Zymol, Liquid Glass, and Mother's Pure carnuba wax. They are all great but I have never seen the gloss and gleam like when I use the Number 7. I used it on my Ferrari 360 and my BMW M6. They sparkle like never before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great results, August 17, 2010

My black seven-year old car had very heavy swirl marks after a "detailer" at a car wash removed hard water spots from the paint. The car looked horrible; it looked worse clean than when it was dirty. I decided that there was nothing I could do to make it look worse, so, rather than repainting the car, I decided to try to restore my car's paint. Since I have no experience in using DA polisher or any compounds, I searched the web for the instructions and watched a video (see comments for URL).

I washed and clayed the car with Mother's Clay Bar. Then I used Ultra Cut compound with Meguiar's DA polisher and Meguiar's 7006 cutting pad followed by Meguiar's Ultra Finishing Polish using the same DA polisher and Meguiar's 9006 pad. I saw an impressive reduction in swirl marks and scratches. The black paint looked almost like a mirror. I could not remove every single scratch, but the paint looked much better than before and much better than paint on many seven year old cars.

After Cutting and Finishing compounds, I applied Meguiar's Mirror Glaze and two coats of Meguiar's NXT was. It worked very well. I am extremely happy with the results.

A month later I tried Meguiar's Ultimate Compound followed by Glaze and NXT, but I did not see any significant improvement from the earlier results.

Meguiar's products have been around since the 1930's at least. My dad used Mirror Glaze in his body shop, I've used it on newer cars with decent paint and the results were what I expected - The paint looks wet when it's dry. VERY deep shine. Top it off with a sealer, if yo don't it starts to wear off in about 30 days or so.

I'm kinda into the late 1940's gas station garage look, and this is the perfect product even if it's in a modern bottle. My first Mirror Glaze was in a glass bottle and I used it on a '57 Chevy Bel Air..

Some reviewers have misrespresented this product by saying that it smells bad, in fact it does not smell bad at all just a typical wax smell anything with chemicals in it really won't smell great anyway but I have to tell you that this glaze does not smell bad either, it's pleasant as most products of this type can be. Now on to the results of this product, Meguiar's is supreme when it comes to making your car shine like new, this is like show room new shine. This was applied to a ten year old Ford Mustang with paint that was in very good condition from being garaged all it's life and I was not the original owner, Meguiar's restored the shine to brand new appearance and the shine keeps shining month after month after month it's been almost a year and still has that showroom shine from when I first applied it to the car, and I still keep getting compliments on the car, the neighbors like it so much that they want theirs done too, have also done my Mothers car with it which is pretty new car and it shines like it just came out of the showroom too, she just loves it as much as I do, I call this Meguiar's once a year polish, rain and water bead on it like they do with waxes so you know it's protected, I would highly recommend this product to anyone also just to let you know I have been using Meguiar's products for years and have always been very happy with the results, over many other products I have used in past. You simply can not go wrong with Meguiar's products.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gives a deep reflective wet look, August 12, 2010

I will keep this simple. If you want to have a "Wet Look" paint finish, this can help you achieve that. This is how I got my 3 year old car looking like a show car.

1. Wash you car with Meguiars Car Wash. Make sure to get all the dirt off. Dry thoroughly. I use a super absorbent chamois to speed up the process. Make sure to do this in the shade. The car's surface should be cool to the touch.
2. Use the Meguiars Claybar. Keep going until your hand glides on top of the paint. This will give your paint a glass smooth finish.
3. Apply Meguiars Paint Cleaner with a Random Orbital Buffer or Meguiars Buffer. This will remove any stains and very fine swirls.
4. Apply this Mirror Glaze with the Random Orbital buffer. Wipe off and buff using a Microfiber Cloth.
5. Apply your choice of Meguiars Waxes with the Orbital buffer. I personally prefer the Meguiars NXT wax because I dont have to wait long after applying the wax before I can wipe off and buff.
6. Maintain this new finish by using the Mequiars Ultimate Quick Detailer often to clean any dust, tree sap or bird droppings that may land on your car. The Detailer will keep it lookng great and also extend the UV protection.

You just need to do this entire process once or twice a year. Regularly, you just need to wash your car at least once a week. And you can re-apply Meguiars wax once a month or as often as you like as their waxes do not damage your clear coat. That is why I only use their products.
