I have waxed a lot of cars in my day. I have been doing detail jobs on the side for years and I want to someday do it as a full-time job with my own business. I believe this makes me qualified to make an intelligent review. The thing about applicators is you don't want to use a towel or a foam pad. The towel isn't thick enough, and your hand will press funny in spots and not in others. Foam pads apply even pressure but the texture is weird and unsuitable for a truly good job. Now these pads are foam wrapped in microfiber cloth. They work great and you can wash them over and over again. I pretty much use only Meguiar's products and this is why. They make the best stuff out there.

These pads are simply the best out there for applying wax. As another reviewer mentioned, they are basically a foam pad on the inside with a microfiber cloth wrapped around the exterior. This literally gives the best of both worlds! The foam interior gives the pad shape which allows for an even application of wax. The microfiber outside makes sure that you don't scratch your car as you apply it. Also, I've noticed that for liquid waxes in particular, a sponge applicator seems to absorb a lot of the wax into the sponge itself, which is sort of a waste. A rolled up microfiber towel avoids this absorption but it is very unwieldy and it's difficult to apply a smooth and even pressure on. Again, these applicators solves those issues by combining the two. Also, these pads are a nice size, probably about 5 inches in diameter, which allows you to cover a large area very quickly. I find the pads that come with many wax kits to be far too small, which just means more work for you to cover your car. Finally, washing these out is a snap and each applicator is durable enough for many waxes. Get these, you won't regret it!

This applicator was ideal for both polish and wax applications. And indeed the fabric itself was easy enough to clean -- I did a little hand soak right after use, which got most of the oils off. The washing machine got the rest off.

That said, I would note that this applicator did not make it through our front-load washer unscathed. After the spin cycle, the seams holding the foam inside the cloth split. In retrospect, I might have washed by hand and gotten fine results, but the durability of these applicators don't live up to Meguiar's "Wash and dry as with any towel" claim.

Owning an older car that I love, this was a must.

The product does what it supposed to do. Although I have not yet tried to wash and reuse the applicator cover, I do like the fact that there are no hard-stitched seams that can cause light surface scratching.

I was skeptical that these would work as I have never had much luck with the old terry cloth versions. These are wonderful. Had to use an oxidation remover followed by polish and then wax. They worked great for each and were just really great at reducing the work on a pretty elbow grease intensive project. Great investment for $6.

I got tired of using the applicator pad that came with my car polish. So I went looking for some -- and found these on Amazon. I was at first skeptical that a microfiber applicator pad would work any better. But I was very pleasantly surprised.

These Meguiar's Microfiber Applicator Pads work fantastically. They apply the polish in a smoother, more even coat - which dries more quickly - and is then much easier to wipe off afterwards. Talk about a win-win-win situation.

They are also bigger, softer, and easier to hold. So my hands and fingers don't get as tired as they do when using a standard applicator pad. And the pads are fully washable. I rinsed them with water right after using 'em and then popped them in the wash -- and they came out totally clean. Very cool.

Here's a secret a friend's wife gave me: I now use these to apply car polish (how gauche, huh?) to all of my kitchen appliances and my sinks - to make them shine and resist spotting like they've never done before. I couldn't be happier.

(Here's the spray wax I use. Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax 15.2oz Liquid Spray Bottle. It has a nice berry smell.)

These Meguiar's Microfiber Applicator Pads are worth every penny, and they are a product I heartily recommend to everyone. Why would you want to use anything less? Enjoy.

I wax our 4 cars twice a year, and have used everything from microfiber cloths to sponges to apply car wax. This product actually gives you the best of both. It fits well in your hand and allows you to apply wax evenly and completely. I recommend it.

I initially started with using the Meguiar's micro fiber foam applicator. Those are great, very small and absorbent with even coating. The problem is when you need to do cleaning vs application. For instance when cleaning leather and this is where the EvenCoat applicator comes in. Its much larger than the micro fiber foam applicator, probably twice the size. It has a stronger friction affect that helps in picking up dirt. I use both products and they are solid, no issues so far.

Regarding cleaning, I know some people have complained but most reviews show a positive light on using a washing machine. I have a GE Steam Washer, and it has a few "super" clean modes. The ultimate is the "Allergen" mode, its 1.5 hours of 212+ degree steam hell. Both of these products have survived multiple "Allergen" modes, so if it breaks apart for you, its just a defect and you need to contact Meguiar. They have really good customer service.
