A great selection of their songs, September 1, 1999

I discovered Tri Yann years ago and coulnd't get their CDs. I finally got Le meilleur de Tri Yann 1 & 2 from FNAC in France - which cost an arm and a leg - it's much cheaper from Amazon!
Even if you don't speak a word of French or Breton, these songs are still moving - they are made up of ballads, laments, protest songs - all reflecting the culture of the Bretons are their oppression by the French. These two CDs really do reflect the best of their work - I highly recommend them, especially if you like celtic music - Mouth Music, Capercaillie, Talitha MacKenzie, Ossian etc.
