Great Tipper, September 18, 2011

Meinl is probably my favorite percussion company these days. Everything I've bought from them has been superb -- and so is this. I was previously using a shorter tipper (7"), but after getting this I hardly use my old one anymore. It's a little longer (9-1/4") and much more comfortable. The center bulge fit perfectly in my hand, plus the weight and balance are very nice. I simply find playing to be __far__ easier with this tipper.
Also, if you've just started learning bodhran, I'd urge you to buy a high-quality tipper like this one rather than the one of those cheaper models (or a poor-quality freebee that came with your drum). It's a lot harder to learn to play without the proper equipment. Bodhran can be challenging enough as it is!
