5.0 out of 5 stars Best Djembe Strap I ever seen/used
I have only owned this strap a few weeks, so I can not comment on its quality in the long term. BUT I must say this is very well made. The shoulder straps have very thick padding, which is very helpful if you have a heavy drum and/or play for long periods of time. The cloth covering the straps is very similar to that in the picture but much more red, and I like the red...

3.0 out of 5 stars very sturdy but had to be adjusted by stitches to fit me
this is comfy and sturdy, but the adjustable strap doesn't have enough movement to be shortened up enough to my size. and i'm pretty average guy - 1.70 m tall...

I have only owned this strap a few weeks, so I can not comment on its quality in the long term. BUT I must say this is very well made. The shoulder straps have very thick padding, which is very helpful if you have a heavy drum and/or play for long periods of time. The cloth covering the straps is very similar to that in the picture but much more red, and I like the red version better too. The djembe is held to the strap by a hook. The hook is attached to a thick leather plate. The whole thing feels very sturdy. I wear a XXXL Shirt and this is really tight on me, but I can bear it. I use this strap on my Rope Tuned Djembe and my Remo Djembe. All I did was take a small piece of rope and make a loop around a couple tuning ropes, and on the Remo I made a small loop around the tuning bolt. Then slide the loop over the hook, works great. Ez on Ez off, but never had drum fall off unintentionally. Also I had a couple of the hooks you see mountain climbers use to quickly attach one rope to another, I got them at the dollar store a while back. You can use those instead of small piece of rope. I mention this because I read somewhere that this strap wasnt for Rope tuned Djembes, which is totally untrue, all you do is make a small loop like I said. I am very pleased with the quality of this product, but I have only had it a few weeks.

I have a heavy LP lug-tuned Djembe, and this gizmo holds it comfortably. I had to get an inexpensive metal hook at the local hardware store to adapt the strap hardware to the drum hardware, but it's adjustable and very comfortable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid & Comfortable but does not fit everyone, November 28, 2012

The Meinl Djembe Strap is very solid and comfortable.
You'll need to get a hook to attach your djembe to it
which you can easily find at a hardware store. The strap
is mostly adjustable and fits large people quite well however
if you are short, you'll need to make your own changes to make
it useable.

I didn't find this to be a good strap for a djembe. I wouldn't recommend buying this as a strap.
