These are great for any toddler. Our 2 year olds love to dance and make music. They are a safe choice because they're too big to swallow, and makes a noise that isn't too loud or annoying for parents.

We bought these for our 11 month old twins that LOVE music. However, after a few days, we noticed both of them were covered in black ink and could not figure out where it was coming from. We then discovered that it was the ink on their egg shakers! Who knows what is in the ink and they have been eating it for a couple of days now. :-( Very disappointed...

My 20 month old son likes these shaker eggs. He has his favorite color that he plays with the most and it fits perfectly in his little hand. I would recommend this product although don't expect your child to play with them for an extended period of time. My son picks it up, shakes it, throws it down, and moves on to something else.

My kids loved playing with the shaker eggs in our Music Together class so I had to pick these up. They are great for jamming along with the radio or your child's favorite CD. Makes an awesome addition to our instrument collection.

We have a set of these for home, and just bought a set for a preschool percussion kit. The whole family loves them, from my 9-month-old, to my 3-year-old, to me. They fit baby hands really well but aren't too small for kids or adults either. We use them to keep beat along with our favorite songs and just to make noise. I think they must be filled with metal balls, because they have a pretty sharp sound, and seem to be filled with a lot of the balls, making a bigger sounding shake. So far, no ink issues with our eggs. Perhaps since the previous reviews the company has taken care of the problem, but perhaps we got a better batch. I would (and have) buy these again.

Wasn't familiar with egg shakers, but soon found out from other family members at Christmas that these are often used at story hours for "keeping the beat". All the grandchildren love them! They seem age-appropriate for my 7 grandchildren who range in age from 1-8 years old. This item was also a "filler" for Christmas. I am considering purchasing more of these & adding one to each of the grandchildren's Easter baskets...

I cannot say enough good about these. I discovered them at a playgroup at another house, they seemed like a fantastic little toy for kids of all ages. I not only bought a set for our family, but I also sent them home as party favors at a birthday party. These have lasted for 2 years now and look as great as day 1. The sound is great, just as a shaker should sound.

the sound is sharp and slow. If you use shaker eggs in your music like I do, you won't like these. But if you are looking for a kids toy, they are solid. I use shaker eggs alot when we are playing, and like to hand them out to the audience to play too, but I was a little dissappointed with these. The "Eggz" are much better, just not pretty.

Out of a whole bin full of toys, my child still returns to these simple toys. If your child likes toys that make noises, buy these eggs. They are great! They make a great "shaking" sound and are easy for baby to hold. My child started using them around 6 months of age and would begin grinning and laughing when he discovered the noises that the eggs made--an instant hit. My child is now a year old and still loves the "shaky eggs". They are easy to pack, and too big to swallow, so I feel safe at letting him play with them--and the sound they make is quite pleasant--and no batteries required! Great purchase.
