More About the Author

In 2005 Milton Davis decided to gather hundred of pages of unfinished manuscripts and pursue a lifelong dream of completing a novel. He fulfilled that dream in 2008 with the release of Meji Book One through his own company, MVmedia. Since that time Milton had released four more novels; Meji Book Two, Changa's Safari, Changa's Safari Volume Two and A Debt To Pay. Each book had been well received by sword and sorcery fans throughout the world. Milton Davis has also been credited in leading the revival of Sword and Soul, a heroic fiction subgenre created by Charles R.Saunders, author of Imaro and Dossouye. Milton and Charles Saunders combined talents to release Griots: A Sword and Soul Anthology, in 2011 to excellent reviews.

Milton currently resides in the Metro Atlanta with his wife and children. He continues to work as a chemist while finally enjoying his passion for writing.

4.0 out of 5 stars the twins June 8, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I liked the book from beginning to end. the only thing i didnt like was the abrupt ending of the first book. The author's attention to detail and knowledge of social and political stigma pays off beautifully. i can't wait to read the next one

4.0 out of 5 stars Afro-centric Speculative Fiction May 2, 2011
Format:Paperback
When I read Meji I hadn't read much speculative fiction that used African culture, beliefs, folklore, and traditions as their basis. It was very refreshing. It's good to have African heroes and kings instead of the usual European heroes one finds in modern fantasy. The book has all the quality of a sparkling old-timey legend, and although the language is rich and the vocabulary sometimes uses African words, the book is very accessible. I really like it and will read other books by Milton Davis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tale of Twins November 18, 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Cursed the day they were born because they were twins, both Obaseki and Ndoro should have been killed. Their father, who wished to have a son more than anything, ordered the death of one of the boys. At great risk to the twins' mother, Shani, and her two servants, Ndoro and Obaseki were rescued and taken to the village of their grandfather. He faked the death of one son, Obaseki, and gave the other, Ndoro, to his father.

Though shun by his people, Ndoro grew to be a great warrior, while his brother Obaseki inherited an amazing ability that allowed him to interact with the spirits. Neither Ndoro nor Obaseki ever knew of the other's existence. And though their lives had taken different paths, somehow they would suffer the same fate, being feared and hated by their people.

Milton Davis has written a fantastic tale that should be required reading. The world and characters he crafted was brought to life with his vivid details and believable circumstances. I felt for the two brothers throughout the story. I'm looking forward to reading book two in the series. I highly recommend you read Meji Book One.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Read! November 16, 2010
Format:Paperback
Milton Davis' debut work Meji picks up where pioneer Charles Saundedrs left off, giving us a new fantasy world to explore that pulls from the rich culture of Africa. In a genre that's more often than not filled with elves, orcs and knights, it's a welcome divergence. It's a tale of fated twins, shrewd warriors, epic battles and powerful kingdoms, set in the midst of spirits and magic. The story is not just well told, but well written--with rich vivid descriptions and well-rounded characters. This is not just a re-telling of Tolkien with an African slant--it is something new, exciting and wholly original. Meji I was a wonderful read, a real page turner. And even better, once you've devoured it--there's already a Meji II waiting to pick up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Marvelous work! August 11, 2010
Format:Paperback
In Meji and its masterful followup, Meji II, Milton Davis has woven a riveting, magical tale of adventure. Two brothers, twins, are separated at birth for deeply rooted cultural reasons. They grow up in different lands. Their experiences are different, their outlooks different. Yet, though far apart, destiny places the twins on a converging path. The Meji books are enjoyable reads, containing all of the wondrous elements that make for quality fantasy. Milton Davis' has created a breathtaking world, complete with fully realized characters that occupy all points of the moral spectrum.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Sword and Soul Explosion August 9, 2010
A Kid's Review
Format:Paperback
I just finished Meji I by Milton Davis and what a ride! Milton has skillfully blended African mythology, sorcery and history to create a seductive world unfolding upon lush, exotic landscapes. His characters are powerful -- yet believable -- and the plot twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat until the final page. Meji I is the read of the summer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable April 4, 2013

Loved the description of the worlds, recognizable enough to be real, but still with enough poetic license to be fantasy. Read it.
