Very enjoyable organ trio, January 23, 2007

Veteran Jazzguitarist Dave Stryker latest effort is indeed a very enjoyable record. The trio consists of his working trio
Dave Stryker Guitar, Jared Gold Hammond B3 and Tony Reedus on the drums.
The music is a mix of modern trio stuff like Mode JW (tribute to the late piano great James Williams) to Grant Green type of blues groove (Our Miss Brooks)to Beautful ballads (I wish you love & Close to you) Those ballads by the way..played so beautifully and thereby giving the listener some "gooseflesh" .
Dave Strykers "Brighter Days" is taken in a medium groove perhaps this one is my favourite tune on this CD.
Strykers influences can be heard in his lines,,,Pat Martino, Grant Green and Wes Montgomery BUT as a mature player he has his own language.
Jared Gold on the Hammond B3 is a nice aqqquintance..his playing is very tasty and he has kind of a laid back groove that supports Stryker solos very well.
This is guitar organ groove with a modern twist. Highly Recommended!
