I bought a uke on a whim for something fun to strum on while sitting around my apartment. I had no education on any stringed instrument. This book is exactly what I was looking for; diagrams of where the fingers go to strum the basic chords.
This just shows the chords, no songs or exercises, but for a beginner it's a perfect primer and gets you playing right away.

This book does not give all chords, and therefore I felt it was incomplete. I already had a generic two page chord list from uke hunt (check it out instead.) The chords were also not organized by key like guitar chord books.

Your basic chord book, with pictures. If you're just learning, or need a handy reference, this will do it.

Have played a ukulele for over three score years. Forgotten many songs from long ago. Great resource to remind me. Am enjoying reliving memories brought to mind by this review in Mel Bay's Book.

Simple chord book. Good illustrations. Simple. Helped me figure out the chords for the Uke. Good buy for those interested in looking for a beginner book.

The cost of this book is worth the diagrams on pages 31 and 32.

If a new uke players learn the notes on the fretboard, and then learn the 10 chord forms on these two pages, they are well on their way to being able to play any song along the fretboard.

I wish other frequently used chord forms, (maj7, 6, diminished ,augmented,) were also included, but maybe that is an idea for another book.

You don't get any great song arrangements, but it is very helpful for foundational playing.

Great reference book for a beginner like me...easy to follow diagrams and very simple for a starter. A must have book to translate chords that don't have diagrams. I use this everyday to compare other chords.

This book is just 32 pages. A lot of coards in no apparent order. Not very useful to me at all. For someone with no experience at all in music it would not prove very useful. Most the information in it can be had for free on the internet.
