About the Author

Peter Gaarn Jylov was born in 1970 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Starting as a self taught musician he began his career in various hard-rock and rock bands in the early eighties. He has a great curiosity in exploring new music styles, and has played everything from classical, Argentinean tango and flamenco to jazz, fusion, funk and hard rock. This variety in musical approaches has shown beneficial in his teaching career, in which he has practiced since 1988. During the mid-nineties Peter studied at the Alternative Danish Music Conservatory, mainly to study jazz theory. Since then he has primarily paid attention to develop his jazz playing by transcribing the great jazz masters solos. Parallel to this he has a composing career, composing classical and jazz works to be used on national television and flamenco, jazz, pop, rock etc. to be performed by himself and others. Peter is currently giving guitar lessons and is performing as a musician in various Danish bands and projects.
