3.0 out of 5 stars I liked, but i prefer classic deathdoom, August 13, 2004
Let me tell you something... i liked doom metal since I heard Anathema: the play clasic deathdoom (heavy growls combined with heavy slow riffs) the music was very slow and full of sadness and grief. Well, in COS we found the grief and the sadness, but not the ultra dense'n'heavy guitar riffs and the death metal grunts. Its more like a gothic metal with some deathdoom metal elements. We can found here clean male and female voices, some spoken parts and a few instrumentals. I just dont like the voice, i'd liked a more death metal voice... well its just my opinion. The guitars are ok, but dont sound tight and strong, the bass sound horrible, but i dont care much about the bass, drums are okey. Oh, i forgot, i liked very much the lyrics . Fans of gothic doom metal will love the album. 3 stars.
