5.0 out of 5 stars A best of that is BEST OF!!!
Any true Millencolin probably has most of these songs and the other albums. In fact, The Melancholy collection is merely more than a Best Of collection. And this is exactly why you would buy the album. It gives you a great insight into Millencolins music PLUS most of the hits (excluding For Monkeys songs).. Da Strike, Shake me and The Israelites (actually a Desmond...

3.0 out of 5 stars Just a lot of early stuff
Culled mostly from 1993's Use Your Nose, and 1994's Skauch, this is Millencolin at an early stage of development. Throw in some covers and unreleased stuff that dates up until 1997, and it served as an OK stopgap before Pennybridge Pioneers hit the market.

Some people prefer MC's earlier stuff, if you do then this is for you. Otherwise you might find it mostly boring...

Da Strike, Shake me and The Israelites (actually a Desmond Dekker cover song) rock every Ska and MelodyCore party. If you love Ska with crunchy guitars and one or two punk songs every once in a while.. let this album introduce you to the greatness of Millencolin,, Sverige rulez!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Old School sounds all in one cd, July 29, 2006
This review is from: Melancholy Collection (Audio CD)
All in all a very good buy for a true Millencolin fan. All of their old EPs are here in this one cd. You can't beat the convenience of simply buying one cd rather that trying to hunt down their old EP singles. Songs like "Pain," "Shake Me," and "Nose Picker" truely exemplify their old school sound before the new sounds in albums like "Kingwood" and "Home From Home." Don't expect these songs to sounds like their most recent releases. If you do, you will be disappointed. For the fans that enjoy Millencolin's older sorta ska sound, you will love this cd! If you are trying to collect all of the major Millencolin albums, this is a must buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ska-Punkers at their best!, April 19, 2003
By

When I got this cd I was used to Millencolin's latest album Home From Home. This is very different from that, but better. This album has a realness to it that Home From Home didn't posess. It has a very Ska-Punk (Rancid/Op Ivy) feel to it. The songs are fast, and loud. The vocals on this album are a lot rawer, too. The vocals sound like a mix between New Jersey and British punk with lots of rolled R's and long O's, very nice. There are a lot of different covers on this album, but that's not a bad thing. In most cases they are just as good or better than the originals!

All in all if you like great Ska-Punk check this CD out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album!!, May 10, 1999

Anyone who has seen Millencolin live can appreciate what this album contains. It has singles that most people will never find. In fact, it's great that we can save money by purchasing one album, rather than buying their 9 million singles!! It's a great album and i'm stoked they are starting to record again.

this cd is probably the best one of them all! the album starts out strong with the awesome "in a room", and includes some of my all-time favorite songs like shake me, "knowledge"(originally by operation ivy), and "use your nose". This is a great first millencolin cd or for people who have others. this cd won,t dissapoint!

This is the best millencolin cd out there. Some songs sound more punkish but others have ska riffs in them. This is their best CD. Buy it now because you won't be disappointed.
