5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stuff!!
I bought this cd back when Bro Russell had his own site. I still pull it out and listen to it once every few months. In fact, I'm listening to it right this minute,(rectal-prolapse) and my wife is cracking up in the other room. It really is funny stuff, and I think he is a true artist. If you are a bible thumping Christian, forget it! It will insult your silly beliefs...

1.0 out of 5 stars WOW - somebody has a screw loose...
Let's see, "Brother Russell" calls Ted a "hate filled homophobe", yet he is the one who has targeted Christians for their beliefs with his twisted venom. I guess "tolerance" is selective for Brother Russell...

When someone dislikes a particular group to the extent that they make a CD (and I guess some sort of a pathetic career) out of prank phone calls, then...

LONG LIVE BRO RUSSELL!!!!!

Just kidding. I LOVED it!!

Brother Russell does it again! Following on the heels of Radio Jihad, Brother Russell and friends "come alive" in this second installment of pranks and other oddities: Melba Jackson has a long talk with Christian shock-jock Bob Larson about the evils of "Gay Day" at a well known theme park, Smegmah Fhondueueh gets "raptured" while ordering a music videotape, Peter Long sells sex tapes for the "newlywed Christian couple" to a local Bible store, and Melba gets fed up with high prices on the home shopping channel. A must-have for any collector with an off-beat sense of humor.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Sure Do Love Brother Russell, November 21, 2005
This review is from: Melba Comes Alive (Phone Pranks) (Audio CD)
Mmm hmm. This album actually made me pee my pants. Of course, I have a terrible problem with my bladder where I seem to uncontrollably urinate about every 5 minutes; therefore, I wear an 'adult diaper'. However, I think this time it was probably because of this CD. Pretty sure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inspired madness from obscure Texas weirdo!, November 12, 2002

After hearing the Crank Yankers and Jim Florentine, I thought that everything funny that could be done with a telephone had already been done. Boy was I wrong. Apparently you have to dig a little to find the really truly weird and inspired stuff, and this is one of those true gems (some of the others being Longmont Potion Castle and The Pittsburgh Fightsters)! This guy Brother Russell calls talk radio programs (usually religious or conservative) and gets on the air as various characters, then takes the on-air freakiness to a level you won't believe. Pure genius. This is kinda edgy and risky stuff, and definitely not to be played with your kids in the room! The old lady Melba character is twisted. I nearly wet myself when I first heard her. I don't know why amazon doesn't carry the other stuff on this guy's melbaworld website, but I hope they will eventually!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest prank CDs of all time!, June 25, 2010
This review is from: Melba Comes Alive (Phone Pranks) (Audio CD)
This collection of pranks is almost 15 years old but it has not lost it's luster. Melba is so convincing as a hate filled christian that the radio hosts buy right into it. Makes me laugh every time. A true classic!

Let's see, "Brother Russell" calls Ted a "hate filled homophobe", yet he is the one who has targeted Christians for their beliefs with his twisted venom. I guess "tolerance" is selective for Brother Russell...

When someone dislikes a particular group to the extent that they make a CD (and I guess some sort of a pathetic career) out of prank phone calls, then you know that person is unbalanced and obsessed. If you despise Christians in the name of "tolerance", and share and unnatural hatred of someone whose faith you do not share, by all means purchase this CD. I think you would be better off however with some quiet introspection as to why you would harbor such intense feelings.

I have found most people who harbor this type of venom towards Christianity either have a sin issue or a fear that Christians are right and someday they will have to face God and account for themselves.
