5.0 out of 5 stars She Loves it!, September 10, 2005
This review is from: Melissa & Doug Locks and Latches Box (Toy)
This toy was purchesed for a very curious 9 month old girl who has a fascination for the latches on our combination chest-coffee table in our livingroom. She absolutely loves this toy! We were all pleased with the craftsmanship. The baby loves the latches and the sound of the clinking metal. We play peek-a-boo, looking into the box, putting hands in one side and out the other. The box has stimulated imagination, tactile and visual stimulation as well. The colorful pictures are well-defined so the little one recognizes her favorite animals. Its a very good investment for the right child. We are all very pleased!

3.0 out of 5 stars Neat concept but too easy from the top, May 2, 2005

The idea of this box is very neat. You can put little things inside and then it is a game for the child to learn the locks and get in it. But, why bother? The two doors on the top have no latch or lock and just a little finger size notch to pull them open (see the second photo). They were easy enough to discover by my 2 year old and so he lost interest in the other locks and latches. Plus, if I were to have designed the box I would have put a divider inside to have more then on compartment since there are so many doors. I did see one similar but made by another company with a divider inside at a discovery store after I bought this one. It does state for 3 years and up so I guess I will put his away and see if he likes later. Too bad!

4.0 out of 5 stars Some kids love it., June 1, 2005
This review is from: Melissa & Doug Locks and Latches Box (Toy)
My aunt bought it for her grand daughters who preferred their dolls so she gave it to my boys. The boys, 2.5 and 1 yr olds, love it and play with it everyday. They do enjoy locking things inside and they like to just play with the locks opening and closing them. I thought maybe it's not good to teach them the locks cuz then we can't lock them out of places we dont want them in and maybe they'll unlock the window and jump out but that hasnt been a problem yet.
