My eight year old daughter received this pad for her birthday. She loves to draw, and she has really enjoyed creating various faces. As the other reviewer said, there are no stickers or other accessories included, so if your child does not enjoy drawing, this may not be the product for you.

I've always enjoyed Melissa and Doug products for all of my children. I picked up this pad because my girls love to draw....especially drawing people. I liked the idea of different skin tones though I probably would've added others like green, orange, polka-dot, etc. There are 4 skin tones. Let's say 1 is the lightest and 4 is the darkest....there are only 4 pages each of numbers 1,3,and 4 skin tones and 28 pages of number 2 skin tone. I think it should've just been 10 each. That would've made sense. This way someone deliberately chose which one they thought we be the most common. Tsk, tsk to you.

This is great. We got this to keep our girls (5 and 7) busy while on a rainy vacation. They loved it. The drew themselves as princesses and then they drew family members, they even got silly and did witches and ugly creatures. They were having so much fun that Mom and Dad joined it. We used Melissa and Doug triangle crayons and had no problem with coverage. Markers or construction paper would be fun also. The drawing pad kept them so occupied they didn't even open the games we purchased.

This overpriced item is simply just silhouttes on pages. No stickers, no decorations, nothing! If your child isn't able to draw faces, this is not an item you would want him/her to have.

Innovative, creative art activity. This would be great to take on a road trip, out to dinner, or anywhere you think your child might be bored!

Our 3 year old loves to draw faces so we bought this hoping to indulge him a little while having a bit of educational play also. he absolutely loves it and it is great for moms like me who aren't incredibly creative and need a bit of help finding good art projects. I would recommend this to any toddler mom.

I didn't read closely enough what I was purchasing. I thought it would be stickers that they could make faces with but my grandchildren had to draw the face facial features on the face and they are not that developed yet. Maybe in another 3 to 4 years this will be good for them. They are 5 and under.

I had purchased this book for my granddaughter, who loved it. It came with stickers to add eyes, noses, etc. This book does not come with the stickers. Probably better for creativity, but not as much fun. We all enjoyed seeing the silly faces she could make with the different stickers on the other model.

This gift was given to our 8 year old daughter for Christmas. It was well received, and we will not require the services of JC Penny's portrait studio for some time. The pad consist of a blank face with ears and neck. The book does come with 4 different skin tones. From there, it's up to the imagination of the child to make a face.

Okay, I'm giving two stars because I should have read the description and reviews more carefully. I was in a hurry and thought I was getting theMelissa & Doug Make-A-Face Sticker Pad product with stickers, etc. But I will review this product on its own merits, or lack thereof. This is simply a pad of paper where every page features the blank shape of a head. I don't think this product does a good job of encouraging creativity because if my child wanted to draw a bunch of faces, she could draw her own ovals. The package boasts four different skin tones, but of 40 pages, 32 of them are Caucasian skin tones. This is really disappointing. I would have expected a more balanced selection. I got this at a deeply discounted price, so I feel like the price was fair for what I got, but if I had to do it again I would have gotten another product or even a blank pad of paper. |
