I purchased this puppet for our son for Christmas. I also purchased the "Mini Scarlet Macaw Finger Puppet" by Folkmanis to accompany him. I really like the quality of the Melissa and Doug products and Barnacle Bart is no exception. He is very well made and has so far stood up to our almost 4 year old who can at times be very destructive. If I could change anything about Bart, I would give him an additional eye with an eye-patch that you can lift up. Our son is facinated with trying to lift the patch up but it is sewn into place. That is not a complaint, just a recommendation. Something else that is very nice is that the stick that is included is removable but it attaches with velcro so that it doesn't slip out during play.

Our son's pre-school teacher has the Melissa and Doug police officer, and so we also ordered one of these for her for in her classroom.

My husband and I had seen these beautifully crafted puppets in our local specialty toy store and fell in love with them. They were kind of pricey, so we checked Amazon and were amazed at the low prices.

We bought this pirate and the kids have so much fun playing with it. Of course, it is fun to use a pirate voice and the puppet is well crafted so that when you move its mouth and hands, it makes some really fun expressions. There is a stick attached to one of the hands so that you can do hand/arm movements as well.

These are similar to the puppets I have seen in professional puppet shows. I am well pleased with the quality.

As an elementary teacher I use this puppet to teach r controlled vowels. Barnical Bart is a very cute puppet, I especially like the stick to make his hand move which creates cute "expressions". This puppet is made well and well worth the price!

All of the Melissa and Doug puppets I recently ordered are fantastic.
I bought them for my 3 year old grandson for Easter. They are larger than I expected, well made with exquisite detailing. They come with a removable hand stick. Great for creative, interactive play with children as well as adults. This is an awesome puppet! My 6 year old LOVES it and he really enjoys putting on puppet shows starring his pal, the pirate. Very well made and fun toy!

The kids loved playing with them but them fell apart within a week. Wouldn't recommend for your child if they are real boys. Pirates duel- these don't hold up to that.

My grandson is having a pirate birthday party. I bought it as a gift. It was a big hit; all the children played with it. A little hard for younger children to operate because it is large (but they loved it). It came with a stick (think it was suppose to be a sword or club) but we took it off because it wasn't appropriate for 4 year olds. It is extremely durable and fun.

gonna say just one sentence "ARRG where's my booty", - the butt pirate lolz. the best gag gift ever and really educational as well :D

Overall, I got a great deal here for this puppet. I use in therapy and the mouth seems to be very stiff. Also the hat did not come in great shape when it arrived. But overall, it is still workable.

this puppet was fantastic,, we have had so much fun playing with all out melissa and doug puppets,,,,yes we are the parents ,, and the kids love them too
