This was our 2nd Melissa & Doug puzzle and I'm sure we will be buying more. Although you may pay a bit more compared to other puzzles, the quality is worth it! These are sturdy and durable wood puzzles. The knobs are attached with screws not just glued on like some other knob puzzles. The jumbo knobs are great first puzzles. My 15 month old really likes them.

I love the Melissa & Doug puzzle collection -- the designs are so cute, the pieces are sturdy and durable and the knobs are great for little fingers.

My daughter really loves this puzzle! She plays with it for 20-30 minutes at a time - which is amazing for being only 13 months old! Her hand eye coordination - fitting the pieces in - is getting better all the time, and she loves hearing about the animals and their sounds. She especially likes the lion! It is a great first puzzle!

I purchased this puzzle for my daughter's first birthday. She has spent many hours playing with the pieces and learning to name the animals. The large knobs make it easy for her tiny fingers to pick up and replace the peices. She is now 14 months old and already knows the names of each of the animals and where they belong! This is a great learning tool for toddlers and lots of fun! The quality is unmatched!

I bought this for my son for his first birthday and he loves it! Very good quality, vivid colors and well made. Highly recommended!

My 20 month old loves this but does get a little frusterated when she can't get it back in the slot. Its a great toy!

These Melissa & Doug puzzles are great for early toddlers and are now one of my favorite gifts to give for 1st birthdays! I bought two for my son when he was a year old and he quickly began to use his logical reasoning to solve the puzzles! The wooden pegs on top are great for chubby hands, especially while fine motor skills are developing. The bright colors and wooden construction are very durable to ensure lasting fun. As a kindergarten teacher, these puzzles are the best I've found for toddlers!

This is a very nice puzzle. Thick solid and high quality wood, nice large knobs, and deep holes for the pieces to rest in.

Its large than I thought it would be, which is nice.

Very cute puzzle, the large pieces and knobs make it easier for my daughter (age 1) to play. Would recommend.

I bought this puzzle to give to my son this coming christmas. He will be eleven months in December. It is very very cute and I love the fact that it is wooden (like a lot of Melissa and Doug products) but like some other people have already said, the pieces are not hand-painted like they used to be. It is still wrapped in its plastic but I can see that the animal stickers placed over the wood are already coming up slightly at the corners. But I am sure it will still hold up to a toddler better than other puzzles. I just wish you got the old Melissa and Doug quality!!!
