Wow! I ordered our pirate ship on Monday, and it arrived today (Thursday morning). We love Melissa and Doug's wooden toys, and this pirate ship is no exception. My 5-year old loves all things pirate, but we aren't big fans of super-scary or evil pirates, which excludes most of the pirate ships out there. This ship, however, just fit the bill! The wooden ship is SOOO cute, and the 3-pirate crew is even cuter. It seems to be sturdily made, and I had it assembled (no tools required) in under 5 minutes.
All 3 of my children spent the whole afternon playing with it. Melissa and Doug toys are definitely good for the imagination, and I had a lot of pleasure from it, too, as I listened to the shouts of "swab the deck" and "walk the plank" and "batten down the hatches" coming from the upstairs!

I orederd the pirate ship on a Sunday night, and it arrived on Wednesday morning! My 4 and 2 year old sons love this toy, and it holds up great, they have been playing with it for days, and as a mom, it is very durable, and would reccomend it!!!

This item is awesome it was easy to put together the figures are adorable.grandma abd grandson have been playing pirates this week,I had to call their customer
srvice department about the poles and they explained that the ship is made to break away if a child trips,the base is solid wood,it is so well made,we found a site that has doll size items and we made a treasure map.I truly reccommend this and I love Melissa and Doug items because you no that they are concerned with chld aftey,their customer service is wonderful..I give this item 10 stars
