This has been a great addition to our Thomas the Train set. Our 3 yr. old and 5 yr. old love to have a road alongside their figure 8 track. They are learning about different traffic signs and vehicles in the community. The cars fit on the track as well, but no magnets on the front or rear of the vehicles. Great fun!

I bought this set about six years ago, and we have had no problems with broken pieces or wheels popping off. Some of the paint chipped a little, but that's what happens when you have little kids playing with painted wooden pieces. This set has lasted through two of my kids, and is now being used in my friends' train table. The pieces work ok with the wooden thomas trainsets. The scale is a little off - these pieces are larger than the trains - but the kids don't seem to care.

I have to admit I bought this mostly for the signs, we have a city/street rug that I thought those signs would be fun addition. What surprised me was how much my son loves the cars. They are fancy painted blocks on wheels so i didnt think they were that cool. But what i didnt realize was how the block shape is perfect for small hands to hold onto. He loves each of the different cars and zooms all around with them. Out of all his cars these are his favorite. I love that they are wood and solid. They are very durable and look great despite crashes and falls.

Just as a note My 2 year old son is not yet interested in the signs but my 4 year old daughter loves to set them them up and plays with them. They do look cute and hopefully will get more use.

The set we received had a fire engine with a rough edge and 3 places where paint was chipped. M&D Customer Service was very congenial and replaced the truck. But alas, it has a small chip too. Also, the ambulance "bumped" into the ice cream truck. . .the painted yellow headlight popped off. A tiny speck yes, but my expectations were of something that would be more durable.

My son is two, and LOVES these wooden cars. He's too little yet to really care about the traffic signs, other than th line them up and knock them over. They are very cute, and well made. The wheels are excellent - they roll well and roll far. My son does knock them into things and the paint is chipping ever so slightly. He likes them better than his "realistic" looking cars. We also bought him a playmat town which he uses with the cars and loves.

My nephew loved them so much he couldn't wait to open and use them. He used them with his truck and had do much fun. He still plays with them months later. Great buy and solid! Love the easy to open and get to using toys too.

THESE BLOCKS WERE A WELCOMED ADDITION TO THE MANY MUNIPLUTIVE TOYS THAT WE HAVE IN OUR CHILDCARE CENTER. THEY ADD MUCH VALUED PLAY TO OUR CHILDRENS EVERY DAY ACTIVITIES. I WOULD NOT HESISTATE TO PURCHASE THIS ITEM AT ALL. THE QUALITY IS SUPURB AND THE PRICING IS RIGHT.

The Melissa & Doug people make sturdy, dependable, traditional toy products. These are no exception. Our 2- and 5-year old grandchildren love to play with them and they helped the youngest learn "bus" and "truck." The kids use the toys with wood track sets and on the 'car carpet' we bought at the same time (Learning Carpets Giant Road Carpet).

I was so relieved to find this toy. I had bought my nephew a "neighborhood streets" quilt and these toys are perfect for it. He can set up the street signs and the cars are little and skinny enough to fit perfectly on the quilt. The only educational part I see is my nephew learning different street signs and different emergency vehicles since they are drawn true to likeness. If a child has a good imagination, this toy will be played with for a very long time.

I bought this for my son's 4th birthday. He loved it, and I loved it also. It doesn't make any noise or light up, and it is solely kid-powered. Really gets the kids using their imagination. Good sturdy vehicles and signs. It can be used with wooden railway sets also. The box comes with a clear plastic lid, love the built-in storage! Overall, a great toy.
