I read the bad reviews, but could not find an alternate option for storing these beautiful but unstackable puzzles. I decided to email Melissa and Doug with a list of my puzzles and asked them if they would fit. M&D got back to me promptly, and assured me the puzzles would fit. I directed them to the bad reviews and asked if they were sure that the rack would work for me and they reiterated that it would. I decided to order it, and am pleasantly surprised to say that all my puzzles fit , beautifully - chunky, peg, big knob, and even some non M&D ones. Everyone including my husband is really complimentary of the rack and how it solved a storage issue. I highly recommend it and am glad I gave it a chance.

I also have Melissa and Doug puzzles, and they do not all fit. However, I had the opposite problem from the other review -- my medium size puzzles fit in the lower racks, but my small puzzles don't fit in the top racks (they fall through). My large Melissa and Doug puzzle is too big for the rack. So disappointed. The product description should specify which size puzzles fit.

Most Melissa & Doug Puzzles like First shapes, Chunky numbers & Jumbo ABC puzzles etc.. did not fit the rack. Only the smaller sound puzzles fit the rack.

I don't own this puzzle rack yet, but I'm ordering it today and will alter my review if necessary, but I called Melissa and Doug today and they told me the exact sizes of puzzles that this puzzle rack holds.

Small Puzzles: Up to 12x9"
Large Puzzles: Up to 18x12"

Hope this helps some of you all wondering if this rack will work or not...I will update my review when I receive the rack in a few days!

Update: The puzzles I own do indeed fit perfectly! Obviously chunky puzzles may take up more than one space, but I only have thin puzzles and they fit great! The rack appears to be very sturdy and I regularly pick it up with the puzzles in it and move it around. No bending, breaking, or signs of weakness here! Love this puzzle rack, I am *very* glad that I made the purchase!

I bought this rack to clean up some of the mess from our collection of M&D chunky knob puzzles. However, most of our puzzles don't fit in the rack. They are all too narrow, and fall right through!. Examples of puzzles that don't fit are Melissa & Doug Deluxe Fish Bowl Jumbo Knob Puzzle, Melissa & Doug Deluxe Jungle Friends (Safari) Jumbo Knob, Melissa & Doug Pets Jumbo and Melissa & Doug Jumbo Knob First Shapes House Puzzle.

If M&D is going to make a rack that will hold chunky puzzles, it should have been simple to make the wires about an inch closer together to hold these puzzles that they also manufacture!

I bought this because I was sick of hunting for puzzle pieces and boards when my children wanted to put puzzles together. I thought this would be a GREAT storage solution which it is...kind of.

The bottom racks are HUGE (almost to the point that I can't find puzzles that fit it - even the Melissa and Doug puzzles).

There are SHARP pieces all over the rack. I would not recommend this rack for younger children.

My son struggles to fit puzzles on the rack because of the weird sizes of the shelving.

All in all I don't like the rack.

I was so tired of the piles and piles of puzzles laying around my house. Now, this rack keeps it all stored in a neat and orderly manner. My 3 year old son thinks it is totally cool and loves that he can easily access all of his puzzles. I'm not sure why other people seemed to have problems with how the puzzles fit. I have mostly Melissa & Doug puzzles and a few others. Every single one fits perfectly. My son has no problem putting them in or taking them out. I love that it fits both the smaller and larger puzzles. It is the perfect solution. I would definitely recommend for any mother who needs a little more organization in her crazy life!!

This puzzle rack does not fit the large Melissa & Doug puzzles. I tried to adjust it so that it at least fit the small puzzles, but unless you put the puzzle in exactly straight, it falls out of the rack. Overall, it was very disappointing.

This is the first puzzle rack that we have purchased, and I got it because it would hold two sizes of the M&D puzzles. It seems a little flimsy, and sometimes the bigger puzzles fall out because the wire isn't super sturdy. Maybe when my daughter gets more puzzles for Christmas it will work out better for us.

let me just say, as simply as possible.. NO, just NO... I actually threw it away..not functional, flimsy, some sharp metal welds, size not correct for all puzzles.... I love Melissa and Doug puzzles but will look elsewhere for a storage unit of better quality
