I purchased these for our (almost) 10 month old son for his stocking. I was presently surprised when they arrived, much nicer than my expectations. They are very hefty (in a good way) I didn't think my son would really play with them much at first, but he loves rolling them back and forth on the floor. A special perk for parent's, no annoying twisty ties getting them out of the package. Over all, I think these will last for years to come, and will really grow with our son. I'm very pleased I went with these and not some of the plastic ones I was considering.

This vehicle set is such a great alternative to the plastic junk sold in most stores. I bought this set for my one year old for christmas and he loves it. It just fits in the palm of my hand, it feels sturdy, and all the parts are made soo well that when my son threw it across the room (he wanted the airplane to fly) it did not chip, break, or bend. The propeller (sp?) on the plane is fun and even though the wheels and the propeller are made from plastic it is not easily breakable. Great colors, great product, recommended.

It took about a minute for my grandson (just 10 months old) to find that the back of the airplane fits his mouth just fine! He has been rolling the truck around, and in a few minutes discovered the propeller and began turning it. This toy set is close to indestructable, and reminds me a lot of the old-style toys I recall from the 50s... big blocky, solidly built, definitely child-proof. I am so glad I found these for his first visit from Santa!

Purchased the first vehicle set for my twins first birthday and it has by far been there favorite present. Wheels and propeller spin freely! Large enough for small hands and sturdy for dropping!

I bought these for my 21 month old son. I liked that they were simple, colorful, seem sturdy, and are non-toxic. However, these are VERY HEAVY items and NOT very STURDY at all, it turns out. He dropped the airplane twice the first day he was using it, and one of the wings came off immediately. He dropped the truck on his foot the other day and was in pain for a while after. I have taken them away and do not plan to give them back until he is much older -- I would say over 5 yrs of age. I may use them as decoration on a high shelf in his room but I would not let him play with them again until he is much older. And the box says "for 1+" !!!! ABSURD! I will look to other eco-friendly, non-toxic toys in the future, but no more Melissa and Doug.

This was a gift for my son's first birthday. The set of 3 is colorful and sturdy and I know he will enjoy them for years to come.

I bought this for my grandson and he plays with them all he time. He especially likes to put them on my Queen Anne furniture and race them. Since he is my grandson I indulge him. The toys are great!

I was looking for good quality toys made in America.
As I read Melissa & Doug's 'about' page I got every impression they make their own toys to sell right here in America.
When the item arrived it has a stamp on it `made in China'.
Very disappointed. If you want made in America look elsewhere.

My son received these as a gift, and he adores them. He's 21 months old and we've assembled a respectable little collection of vehicles over the months, but he is always drawn to these. So are other kids who come over to play. The car and dump truck are just plain appealing, and the plane -- with its moving propeller -- is really cool. All three have that can't-put-your-finger-on-it appealing quality that makes kids (and adults) want to hold these in their hands and scoot them around. They're really substantial, too, and I can't imagine them breaking.

My grandson was 20 months old when I got these for him. I'd thought about saving them for his birthday but am happy I gave them to him earlier. He really loves them. The wood is smooth and nicely finished. I was disappointed the wheels are plastic but they're alright. The size of the toys is just right for his little hands.
