Customer Reviews

The pieces are made of a light wood which will hold up well with younger children.

I will tell you that the best aspect of this toy, is that it offers a new method of explaining "feelings" to a young child.

We gave this to my daughter when she was 2 and now almost 4 she still pulls it out to play with it.

I guess I should've read the dimensions in the description, because I was very surprised to see how small this toy actually was. Despite its size, my children loved playing with this toy. It is a fine toy for independent play, but unfortuantely, because it only has the one surface to display the bear on, it was not long before we had a fight on our hands. I will tell you that the best aspect of this toy, is that it offers a new method of explaining "feelings" to a young child. The happy, sad, mad, and sick faces were a fun new way to teach my little ones.

I see that some reviews talk about Melissa & Doug items made in china. I spoke with Melissa & Doug on this, ALL of their items are product tested in their home office before being sold. They have the highest quality controls - they are not a public giant company so they can adhere to their own higher standards.

As for this toy, my daughter loves it. It is great to dress up the bear in so many different outfits!

As usual, Melissa & Doug have outdone themselves again! :)

My daughter had used with occasionally for occupational therapy. she loved it so much that I had to buy her one of her own. Now that we own it, it is one of her favorite toys. She is 2 and she loves the colors. It is a great puzzle for teaching emotions because of the happy, sad, mad, sick faces which is great for her because she is also on the autism spectrum.

The toy is durable and will last a long time :) One of the best investments I have made in toys :)

It's a Melissa & Doug, what can I say? This was one of my daughter's first puzzles. We got it for her for Christmas when she was a month shy of turning 2. She could do it with ease and we have had a lot of fun. The box is a little cheaply made, but my daughter is 3 now and everything is still in great shape. I did not experience any of the issues the other reviewers have mentioned.

I purchased this puzzle for my niece who's only two but shows signs of ADDHD and FAS. I saw children in my church nursery so engaged in this puzzle as we discussed the bear's emotions and matched the clothes with the shoes. They know slippers go with jammies and so forth. My sister say's my adopted niece LOVES this puzzle and can stay focused on it for quite a while. Just what I hoped to hear.

I had bought this as a gift for a little girl, but never gave it and ended up keeping it for my son. He's not into it, though. But sometimes I pull it out and we go through the emotions. I will ask him to make a sad bear and he will, though a couple of the emotions are hard to tell. I think he doesn't like that it's a girl and not a boy with professional (fireman, doctor, etc) attire. They should make a boy one...not sure if they do. I know they have one with a family...

I can see a little girl liking this toy a lot.

This is very cute! If your little one likes playing with puzzles or toys that are tactile and hands-on (but not too complicated) then this is perfect. It's not very big- about the size of an adult's hand.

My only complaint is that the lid does not stay closed. It just sits on top the box, but there is nothing to make it stay- bad designing concept.

Yes, this is relatively smaller than most of M&D's puzzles. But that's the beauty of it. My little girl loves it, it is much smaller than the Maggie Leigh dress-up set, so she takes it with her around the house, and plays with it before she takes her nap in the afternoon. Yes, it is made in China, but it is very well made consider the $5 price tag.
