I bought this set for my 4-year-old niece to go with a small marker board/chalk board. I have previously purchased many Melissa and Doug products and am always pleased with the quality of the product. This time was no different.

The marker set is appropriate for a child old enough not to eat the cap. I say this because some 4-year-olds still do this.

The markers work fine on the marker board, as expected, and have vibrant colors. The markers are also easily erasable with a marker board eraser, and wash out of clothing without a problem.

I would recommend this set, but older children may want more colors than just the four.

I had bought some Foohy brand washable markers and they are washable. However, when I needed some more for my kids to play with at my mom's house, I couldn't find them, so I took a gamble with these. They are not marketed as washable, but based on some reviews I thought they would be. Unfortunately, they are not. As with other regular dry erase markers, the only way I could get the stain out was to rub and rub the stain with Murphy's Oil Soap (a tip I found online that actually works)! So, if the only reason you are wanting these markers is in hopes that they will wash out of clothing, they will not.

These emarkers worked fine for my grandchildren and seemed to last quite a while. No problems with them. Good value for the money.

I have always been happy with the Melissa and Doug products I have purchased but I cannot say that for these dry erase markers. For my soon to be three year old son I was looking for a safe, dry erase marker that would not stain and have strong fumes. I thought since these were marketed for kids they would be all that. They were not. They stain clothes, chalkboards, vinyl siding. In about 2 minutes my son wrote on the dry erase side of his easel, the chalkboard side and my siding. It only came off on the white board. I was very perturbed and would never had bought them if I knew they stained like this. Then he got it on his shirt and only some came off even though I put stain remover on it immediately. I have a problem with Easel manufacturers that create dry erase easels for pre-schoolers yet do not include safe washable dry erase products for the children they are for. I am very dissappointed and I purchased 2 packs thinking they would be great. Not good at all.

A bit of guessing on the durability, but the pens seem well made. Tips are particularly strong and sharp. They're tapered rather than chiseled. This is good thing. Colors are vivid, as well. We're pleased.

I got these for my preschooler hoping that they'd wash out well since they're geared toward kids... well they washed out of his clothes okay, but won't come off the board. Not that they are just leaving light lines or marks, part of the coloring won't come off at all even with a lot of scrubbing. I'm hoping that a board cleaner will get it off, but I was hoping just an eraser would do...

Do not buy these markers!!! They stain clothes terribly and does not wash out. Too expensive, certainly not worth it.

I bought these for my son's Birthday which was at the beginning of THIS MONTH (November)...needless to say all of the markers have already gone dry. And it wasn't due to caps being left off or anything on our part. I appreciate that they don't smell up the house with toxic fumes, but they also didn't even last a month!

The black pencil doesn't work anymore after two days. Then the blue and red one after one month as well, but my daughter didn't use it every day! They are not durable at all!

Bought these markers with the Melissa and Doug easel and everything else to go with it. Markers were dry and the red wouldnt erase off the dry erase board. And both the markers and board were M&D! The red and green were the most dry and not even usable out of the package. I had another package of the Foohy washable dry erase markers from something else their grandmother bought and they were great! By kids love the dry erase board and always reach for the Foohy brand ones. Better colors too. I just purchased more of the Foohy brand. I am hesitant to purchase the Expo brand because I don't think they are washable and with a 4 year old I don't want to take the chance. Don't waste your money on the M&D ones! (But I really like the M&D easel. Great for the little $)
