I give this toy the higest rating possible.

First of all, it is beautifully made. Unlike most toys today, it is not made out of cheap, breakable plastic, but out of sturdy wood. I was very pleased with how well it was made. It can be moved into different configurations, and is very cleverly made, with very attractive detailing. The horses and people that came with it are also very attractive and well made.

Secondly, it is what I call an "open ended" toy. That is, unlike many toys that become boring quickly because there is only one way to play with them, this castle naturally stimulates creative and fun play that has no end.

To me, this is the best kind of toy, one that engages your child and encourages them to make up their own stories.

And this is a toy that I can join a child in playing with, too, as we make up stories together.

This will be a toy that will last for years, and that will be a favorite for years. Wish I had had this when I was a child!

We got this toy for my then 4 and 3 year old daughters for Christmas 2004. It has been in pretty heavy use since then. I like the simplicity of the design - it has just enough 'castleness' to make it perfect, without going completely overboard like a molded plastic castle.

It has been very sturdy overall, considering the abuse my daughters and my 2 year old son have given it. I think we have reglued part of it once due to a fall from a dining room table, which I'd say is more than acceptable.

I only gave four stars because about 4 months into its lifespan the drawbridge broke off - it is the one slightly weak part of the whole thing, in my experience. However the portcullis still goes up and down and my daughters haven't noticed that the drawbridge is missing so obviously it's still agreat toy!

I love this and would recommend it to any parent with 2 to 10 year olds. I think even the drawbridge would survive if there weren't 3 toddlers climbing on it for four months!

This is my son's favorite toy - bar none! He plays with it all of the time and with the included figures and all of his other action figures. There is so much for him to do with it because it unfolds to about twice the original size!

This is a great toy! It's well made & sturdy. My 2 & 3 year olds love it, as do any other kids that visit. I can see it lasting for years to come. Well worth the price.

my daughter loves this castle,but the draw bridge has broke.so i bought another one.same thing has happened.my only complaint.besides the draw bridge being flimsy everything else is sturdy and made well.

it's better than i thought from the photos. i like how it's appropriate for both medieval adventures and more fairy tale-like play. most castles i found were scary and violent looking, as well as being large hunks of plastic that have to take up room in your house. we like how this folds up for storage and the soft wood feel. also a plus is the different play areas... the staircase, the drawbridge, the dungeon, the throne room, the wall and guard tower. the 3 figures that come with the set leave a lot to be desired. they are very "arts n' craft'y". we purchased some realistic knight figures by Schleich which work well in the scale of the castle. actually the scale is better than the figures that come with the castle.

We bought this as a gift for our son on his fourth birthday. He has used it every day since, often spending hours using it for imaginative play. It's sturdy, handsome, and it folds up very conveniently for cleaning up and stowing away. (When you close the castle, you can put all of the figures inside it.)

It's well-sized for use with the popular Papo knight figures.

I purchased the Multi-level Wooden Folding Castle, along with some extra figurines. My two grandsons, ages 4 and 7 have spent many happy hours playing with it. The four year old is especially enthralled and it is the perfect size for him. The best thing about this castle is that it folds open and closed, giving more flexibility, as well as more room for two children to play together. The older grandson has been inspired to read more about castles, knights, and dragons, since playing with his own version of this imaginative toy.

A quality product! This all wood constructed castle with pull-string drawbidge, sliding parts and staircase is well made. My kids truly enjoy playing with this nicely made castle.

This has been a big hit with all my kids ages 6, 6, and 8 (all girls). The mini-barbies make great princesses LOL... I do highly recommend the schiel (sp?) figurines as their realistic details make play more exciting. The castle looks good in our family room too; and it is a magnet to every kid and adult who visits.
