This was one of our (then) four year old daughter's gifts last Christmas. It's really a beautiful toy that we'll keep for her kids one day. It's true that the furniture won't all fit, but that doesn't really matter to us. We just set up partially in the "courtyard" when the castle is "open". We did purchase additional people and additional furniture to go with this castle (and I would recommend you do so if you can for more fun). This Christmas we are getting her the "coordinating" fold-and-go "mini" version of this also made by Melissa and Doug. We think they'll be a lot of fun to set up together. We've found some children really respond and connect with these simple types of wooden people and some do not favor them. You might want to research what types of toy characters before buying; otherwise, it is really quite charming and has a nostalgic feel while still being exciting to children. Toddlers would probably have more difficulty manipulating the toy people and fitting them into the tiny rooms/areas of the castle, but this was not an issue for us. It arrived safely and in a timely manner.

I bought this castle with the deluxe playset for my two girls, 3 and 1. they LOVE it. the first day they got it they played with it for hours. since then i have bought horses, dragons, and more people to allow for more imaginative play. i love the fact that it opens and you have 2 sides to play with. My daughter makes up stories and plays for the people and animals in the castle. it is her favortie toy to play with.

It is very sturdy. My girls are very rough on their toys and it has lasted through them and its been almost 5 months of play now. the detail is very nice and detailed. its not painted on which i think is great bc it will last longer. its more of a decal that is printed on there. It is very big- fits on my coffee table and takes up the whole table when opened. the colors are true to the picture- very pink.

the dolls are made of rope and wood. they are great for my girls and the pieces havent fallen apart yet. they are sturdy enough to stand up yet can bend in different positions.

I am planning on buying the boy version of the castle for my nephew. I would def recomment this to other parents.

The price was rather high for this castle. It got great reviews and my daughter kept asking for a castle, so we forked out the cash for Christmas. Santa brought this BIG gift for my then 2 year old. However, she ran right by it and went straight for the Tinkerbell movie sticking out of her stocking. My 1 year old plays with it more than my now 3 year old. Unfortunately it is a little hard, so when the 1 year old falls on it, I get nervous. But, it is very high quality. I still love the castle, but unfortunately the kids play with the Dora house more. I would recommend for princesses; however, don't be upset if she doesn't play with it as much as you would like.
