5.0 out of 5 stars Great origami fun in a small package
There are 51 sheets of quality paper in this kit--many bright colors, including gold and silver. They are smoothly colored on one side only (white on the other) to better appreciate the origami process, particularly if you are a beginner. There is an insert with six projects carefully outlined, starting with two easy ones.

First off, the basics, which seem to be lacking in the product description: 51 sheets, 17 colors, including primary colors, fluorescents, and metallics.

This paper is probably a good choice for kids or origami beginners. The paper is thick, glossy, and bright, making it easy to fold and fairly vivid for designs. It's hard to get delicate with small folds, though, because of the thickness, and the one-color sheets (which are white on the back) aren't particularly interesting for use in designs, once you've made a few.

The enclosed booklet is pretty basic, and includes five designs: airplane, swan, fortune cookie (looks like classic "fortune teller"), wishing star, and inflatable cube. Again, good for absolute beginners, but it's not a set of paper that I'd buy more than once.

I've tried other Origami sets with my grandchildren and failed miserably, so I was pleased to have some success with this one. I can always count on Melissa and Doug products. The sheets aren't too large for little hands to create some easy projects too, so we all had fun. After trying the projects on the included leaflet, we moved on to another book that had great instruction, but no paper. I'm glad I purchased both products together. Recommended together for beginners.

This is a decent little selection of very vibrant and fluorescent colors. You get 51 sheets and a generous number of them are metallic which are my favorites. This comes in a nice little box that has a string seal on it which helps to keep the paper safe and organized.
It also comes with a little stapled booklet that shows you how to fold five different projects: Airplane, Swan, Fortune Cookie, Wishing Star and Inflatable cube. See my accompanying picture to view these five projects. The paper is okay. It is pretty durable which is good for learning, refolding and working at the projects. It is colored on one side and white on the other.
I love the bright colors, but some of the colors will bleed through to the white just a little bit and will leave a bit of smudging on your fingers. So, that is why only four stars. The instructions are pretty clear but I had trouble with the swan. I couldn't quite get it right. I did make a nice swan but it seems to be a bit different than the one in the booklet. Nonetheless it is a nice little kit that gives you the paper and folding instructions. I like the star and the inflatable cube the best.

Considering the amount of paper and the booklet this is a pretty good value for the price and at the writing of this review it is also available for super saver shipping which potentially means free shipping. So if you want to start out easy or have the kids start out then this is a good place to start inexpensively.

My grandson was trying to do origami with regular paper without much success. He was able to make wonderful creations once he had the proper paper. On You Tube he found instructions and we were pleased with his progress. This is a big step for one with autism!

My 11 year old son loves origami, and I had a very hard time finding origami paper for him for Christmas. This was a nice set, perfect size and a variety of colors. He was very happy with it.

This has to be the worst Origami paper I've ever tried to use. True, I'm not an expert, but I have bought Origami kits before and never had this much trouble with paper. For some projects, it's too stiff to fold (smaller folds) and on the tighter folds, it's constantly ripping. It's also difficult to do pivot folds, I think because it's so glossy. The colors are vibrant, and the metallic colors really are metallic (and very nice looking), but it's just too difficult to work with. Wouldn't buy this product again. That's what I get for buying cheap origami paper online...=/

This paper is easy to fold yet has a shiny plastic like coating on it. The metallic colors are fun and the box works well to store the paper. Our only problem is that the paper was popular with our son and we ran out pretty quickly.

I bought this to place behind 4x6 pictures in a 6x6 photo album so there wasn't a blank spot above the pictures. The paper is appropriate for that use but I wouldn't use it for Origami.

Also, on the back of the box, there are two typos. Thought that was pretty dumb, but what can you expect through translations of different languages.

I selected this paper because I knew I would probably waste most of it just trying to learn the basics of origami and the price seemed relatively reasonable. I got exactly what I hoped for: a selection of basic paper in enough colors to keep me entertained while I attempted to learn some basic folds and models. The colors are vivid, the paper is somewhat thick and has a glossy coating. The booklet chose some odd models to feature but it certainly helped me get started! Shipping was also very quick! I think I'll move on to some more traditional paper but this was a great first step!

I really wish I hadn't bought two boxes of this. It's pretty, but the glossy surface and thickness make it impossible to fold delicately. It's too hard for kids and too frustrating for adults.
I've never seen glossy origami paper before. This is probably why.
