I got these for my three year old nephew who LOVES dinosaurs. I didn't know for sure how well he'd like them but they were a huge hit. He never put them down the whole day! He really liked them and they held his attention for quite a while which is hard to do--believe me! I was glad I bought them and would certainly recommend them. Melissa and Doug make great products and this was no exception!

These are just great. Four 12-piece puzzles made out of very durable materials (see Pros below). The sturdy wooden box has four compartments under a sliding lid. Each of the four puzzles are theme related. These four are Triceratpos, Stegasaurus, Pteranodon, and Allosaurus.

Pros:
Easy but not too-easy puzzles.
Pieces fit well together.
Nice pictures.
Sturdy container.
Each puzzle has a different shape printed on the back to make sorting the puzzles easier.
Super durable. I did not realize just how durable they were until I found a piece in my dishwasher. Even after being washed the picture was fine and the wood in perfect condition.

Cons:
It may take a few moments to figure out how to fit an entire puzzle's pieces in a single compartment.
Lid does not lock closed.

My kids love these and you will too.

We love Melissa and Doug toys.....LOVE!!! They are all durable and definately stand the test of time. These dinosaur magnets were bought for my son for Christmas. He is not only a dinosaur fan, but loves magnets and all things Melissa and Doug.

To describe, these are NOT just a magnet with a sticker on them. NO!!!! Melissa and Doug magnets are wooden, sturdy and thicker for small hands to grab! They are carefully sanded and we have never seen or found a splinter....so no worries there. They have bright colorful pictures on them and are coated for protection. The whole back of these is a magnet. There is no stick on, might fall off magnet piece that is glued on. It is incorporated in the piece somehow. I have never had one be damaged or fall apart from normal play. (However the pictures will and do come off if your 1 year old puts them in his mouth and nibbles on them. LOL) These come in a small wooden box to organize and keep them in, but we use the wooden box (no lid) for other things and just leave the magnets on the fridge.

The company gets kudos for stamping different symbols on the back of puzzles to help adults sort the four puzzles apart. This toy is fantastic and will likely be done over and over again with plenty of wonder each time. Only complaint is that pieces sometimes stick together and eager hands may apply too much pressure. We know they will eventually break, but the price is tremendous given the amount of attention the puzzles have commanded.

I have come to the conclusion that we can't really go wrong with Melissa & Doug products. This are well made and pretty thick magnets that don't bend easily since they're one wood. My son loves making dinosaur scenes with them on anything they'll stick on. We finally got him a magnetic white board so he can draw on it too.

These magnets are great, my 4 yr. old loves them. I pictured them bigger. The biggest is about 3 1/2 inches tall. I suppose too big wouldn't be good thoug, since there are 20 of them. They are fabulous and a big hit!

My 4 year old daughter loves anything that has to do with dinosaurs. There are 4 small puzzles inside the wooden box. The puzzle pieces are small and when fully assembled, each puzzle is small. The puzzles are made of wood and the storage box is made of wood. It is very durable and doesn't take up much room to store. My daughter enjoys playing with the puzzles, but she does need some help putting them together. If you don't mind assisting your child with putting the puzzles together, I would recommend buying this item. Otherwise, wait until they are at least 5 years old so that they can put the puzzles together all by themselves.

My son has several of the lights, camera, interaction boxed puzzles, and loves them all! They have well chosen themes to appeal to young children. Every effort has been made to simplify sorting and storing these puzzles. The sturdy wooden box is segregated into four compartments, one for each puzzle and each puzzle has a simple symbol on the back of the pieces to identify it. The pieces themselves are durable for for the rough treatment young children inflict upon puzzles. My only slight criticism of the puzzles is the pictures of the completed puzzles are on the side of the box and are very small, making it a little tricky for children doing the puzzles forthe first time.

We have 3 different sets of these puzzle boxes and my 3 1/2 year old loves them ALL. He is very quick with puzzles and he likes to do all four in the box before he takes them apart. Since all the part are made of wood, these hold up well. We have never had a product from this company that we were not very pleased with. The little stamped shapes on the back make sorting out the different puzzles quick and easy.

The sturdy wooden pieces of this puzzle are great for my 4 and 5 year olds. (It didn't damage the puzzle when pieces were put together wrong). The three of us sit together on the floor rotating each puzzle until completed.We talk about the dinosaurs and help each other put the puzzles together. This toy keeps us busy and it's fun to "play" puzzles. Believe it or not it's as fun to put away - each individual puzzle has a differnt shape on the back of each piece. You can turn the pieces over and collect all of the circles, diamonds, squares, and triangles then put them in their own spot in the wooden container The pictures of dinosaurs are great. Fun every time we play!
