The Melissa & Doug Mix-n-Match puzzles are beautiful and cute! I didn't realize only a small section of each animal (only one leg) would be the piece (I thought it was going to be the whole body of each animal, U-shaped), but this is still a great puzzle and my 1-year-old daughter likes to play with it. Eventually she'll learn to match the animals up with the pieces/colors. I really enjoy the artwork of this series of puzzles.

It's a nice quality puzzle. I did not realize by the description mix and match, that the whole animal did not come out, and that you mix and match their rear quarters. Although educationally sound, somewhat frustrating to an 18 month old.

I bought this as a gift for my niece. She loves it and plays with it often. I would recommend this for the toddler set. This is durable and colorful as is the case with all Doug & Melissa toys.

This puzzle is a little more challenging than the solid whole piece puzzle. It is a compliment to the other puzzles for toddlers

My grandson is 18 months old. I only have him twice a month. He seemed interested in the puzzle. I guess I thought it was going to have the whole animal that was the puzzle piece. He was having a challege putting the piece in right but didn't understand the individual piece color key. I have to see how he does with it.

I thought this was a regular puzzle where the whole animal was the puzzle piece to go back in its place. Turns out it's just the tails. So I guess it's good because the tails fit in any spot.

Bought this for my daughter... the pegs are so small, as are the puzzle parts. Its a cute puzzle but not one of my favorites.

I love Melissa and Doug puzzles but this one is way to easy for a 2 year old. It doesn't hold my grand daughter's attention for very long. In fact she deliberately puts the pieces in the wrong place. Just not challenging enough. maybe for under 2 years old.

It was easy for my two year old, so I really liked it. But mostly she just throws the pieces around and makes a huge mess. I'm thinking maybe they are too simple.

My 19 month old son loves this puzzle. It has helped him learn the concept of matching and also helped him to improve his fine motor skills. I highly recommend this product!
