I've rarely met an M&D product that I didn't love, but...

For starters, despite being shipped in a ridiculous amount of packaging, most of the pieces of chalk were shattered when it arrived, and the ones that weren't broke easily in my child's hand as she wrote.

The colors are wonderful and vibrant, but it's coated with something, presumably to keep down the dust, but it's really difficult (even for me) to "break through" that layer to actually write with the chalk. So - we'll try crayola next time!

I bought these to go with my sons roll up chalk mat, and when I received them, I was surprised by how bright the colors of the chalk are. However, when we started using them, they broke fairly easily. They are dust free, and true to that, and come in some great colors, but it's just not enough for me to buy them again.

There was a good selection of colors in the chalk. The only problem we have is with the color "black". It won't come off the board, even with a wet cloth.

IT IS NOT DUSTLESS!!!! I have chalk dust everywhere! I got this chalk because it said 'dustless' chalk and I have an Asthmatic family. I also got this for winter to add to their art supplies. But this is NOT DUSTLESS. I will never buy this again. Sidewalk chalk has less mess and less dust!

Not a whole lot to say about Chalk - but it works on his Melissa and Doug double easel, and my son loves being able do do things in different colors.

chalk has held up to a baby who likes to taste test... chalk looks vibrant on the chalk board, erases just as easy. definitely worth the money.

The sticks broke up fairly easily when handled by my 3 1/2 year old daughter. I much prefer the thicker chalks for children this age.

The chalk arrived mostly broken and the one piece I tried to use, broke in my hand. But the worst factor is the waxish film that prevents the chalk from working properly. It's almost as bad as using "roseart" crayons. Need I say more? Never again!

Great product for a great price. I got these for my 2 year old daughter for her Crayola easle chalk board. She loves them. Two thumbs up. :)

I do love M&D products, but I did not like this chalk. I thought the chalk was supposed to have less dust than normal, but it definitely did not. I'm not sure how it worked on regular chalk boards, but DO NOT use it on any type of chalkboard contact paper or decal. Another review had said there was a coating that was difficult to wear down for use. I experienced the same thing. Within minutes of my kids drawing with this chalk, our chalkboard decal was completely scratched and I needed to replace it. I will try to use other chalk from now on. It was fun for the kids, but it was not fun for me! :-(
