This dog was a shock. I took it out of the box and realized that it's about twice the size of our own actual ShihTzu dog. It's enormous! And the long hair on this creature is annoying. It sheds everywhere, and gets stuck to everything. I can not stand this toy, but my son who is 3, loves it. He named it, and likes to nap with it. I try to deter him from this because he wakes up with faux hair all over the bed and all over himself. I gave it three stars because he loves it. I would have given it one star if it were completely based on my feelings.

I have to re-construct the appearance of the dog! In the picture, the head of the dog was rounded, I got mine flat! The picture looks like the stuff toy is soft and cuddly... but its NOT! Its not huggable coz it feels like a big chunk of stuff clothing rather than soft cotton. I wish I can return this product but Im running out of time to get one.

I was not impressed with it's appearance or it's resemblence to a shihtzu...I doubt I would have purchased it if I had seen it at a store.

This product is not worth ordering. It is almost twice the size of an actual Shih Tzu. It is hard and stiff and does not sit like the picture. It will shed and face is not as cute as picture. I ordered it for my brothers son after he visited and wanted to take my real dog home with him. I ended up sending this item back.

Looks NOTHING like the picture. Picture is very cute, what we received looks like a totally different animal and NOT in a good way. And it sheds like crazy, as soon as my son picked it up he got a mouthful of hair. Do NOT waste your $. Love melissa and Doug products, very disappointed in them w the quality of this.

This is a cute stuffed animal and is a lot larger than I thought. It is the size of an actual adult dog - maybe even a little larger. It does shed a little, but if you brush it that ceases. It really is a great toy for the money. Even an adult who collects them would enjoy this as a gift. It is a very pretty stuffed animal. I enjoy all Melissa and Doug toys...I buy many of them as gifts.

This was a gift for my two year old grandson.......his family owns a real black and white ShihTzu, so I thought he'd get a kick out of it. He's not one for stuffed toys, but this one is a favorite toy. Ours hasn't shed, but I brushed it first to get out any loose "fur". Melissa and Doug make the best kids' toys!
