Melissa & Doug Princess Castle Furniture

I bought this furniture to go in the Melissa and Doug folding castle that my daughters LOVE, and although it looks like it matches, the furniture proportions are large for the rooms in the castle. We also have the Melissa and Doug Royal family, and they don't fit in the chairs well either. Overall it is a great idea, the castle needs furniture, but this furniture doesn't actually fit that well.

Similar to what others have said, this is a very pretty wooden furniture set that matches perfectly with the Melissa and Doug Wooden Castle; however, I would agree with the other reviews that the furniture is not a great fit. The castle really isn't meant to have a lot of furniture so the number of pieces is great. The furniture pieces are just not sized correctly to fit the little figurines that would typically be played with in the castle. I bought my daughter the Voila Medieval Royal Family Set and she already had the Melissa and Doug version and neither set fit in the chairs or in the bathtub, without cramming them in. They don't sit well on the table/bench either and usually fall over. My daughter recently received a set of the Barbie Kelly Bunch Kids for her birthday and surprisingly, they are a better fit for the furniture than either of the Medieval families that she has. However, despite the problems I see with the furniture, my daughter still enjoys playing with it.

I bought the castle last Christmas for my then 3 year old. This year for her birthday I gave her this set to go with it. She loves it. It has all the right pieces to go along with the castle. She loves playing with it. And these pieces are perfect size for the Disney Princess Favorite Moments figures or Polly Pockets.

I think M&D made the castle first and then the furniture in hind site! I was so thrilled to find the furniture that was suppose to go with the castle just 2 wks before Christmas. Until then, nothing was available and I couldn't risk getting furniture that may not fit with the castle. Anyway, it turns out that yeah, the furniture matches with the decor of the castle, ie, wood/pink/flowers. But scale wise, they're still a bit big and can't fit well in some of the rooms. But well, this is all you have and it's still a very pretty set. The people that I bought would fall out of the thrones. Again, not the greatest fit but will have to do.

My only complaint would be that there aren't any other pieces to go along with this. My little one even filled the "bathtub" with water for an entire day and it is still good as new!

I got this product for my daughter's birthday after she received the Melissa and Doug Castle for Christmas. She was really bummed that the castle didn't have furniture. I love all the Melissa and Doug products I've purchased, and this one is no different. They're well made and it's so nice to have wooden toys around instead of plastic ones that play annoying music. I have 2 girls (ages 2 and 4) and they both love to play with them. They get really creative and there's a nice variety of furniture to play with. I agree that some of the pieces don't fit into some of the rooms, but honestly, it doesn't seem to bother my kids.

I am not sure what castle these are REAlly supposed to fit, but it is not the melissa and Doug one. You cannot even get all the bedroom furniture in there with a hammer, unless you use the hammer to break the walls. It is frustrating for little kids. I think polly pocket stuff would work better for this castle.

Nicely done, as all M&D products are, but as other reviews have stated these are not scaled to fit the castles made by M&D. It would be like building car car w/o leg room for the driver.

If these fit the castles they'd get 4.5 stars.

I agree with the other reviewers who say this toy is okay, but does not fit well with the Princess Castle. My daughter received this as a gift to complement the castle she had received months before. The furniture is too big, and she doesn't usually utilize it in her play. When we fold/close the castle, we then dump all of the furniture in the middle. When she unfolds to play, she usually sets up a few of the pieces and sets the rest aside.

She has the Favorite Moments Disney princess figures that she plays with in her castle. The furniture is a good fit for those dolls, so it is not a complete loss. In retrospect, I would rather her have something else instead.

We got this furniture to go with the Melissa and Doug Princess Castle. Our daughter just LOVES the whole set! They are high quality and match the castle perfectly. She got this set, along with the castle and the Royal Family Wooden Play Set, for Christmas and she has played with it every single day since. Even her older brother enjoys playing with the set. Lots of fun and high quality! Great job again by Melissa and Doug!!
