2.0 out of 5 stars Only certain puzzles will do!
This is a cute product, but will only hold flat puzzles or ones with tiny plastic pegs. My son has many flat puzzles with various size wooden pegs on them. I just pile them all in it any which way they will go. The little racks are too close vertically for my son's puzzles, or too wide for his square wooden puzzles. I was disappointed, but at least they are stacked in...

I originally purchased the wire puzzle rack by Melissa and Doug only to discover it didn't work for my toddler's peg puzzles. Then I found this racks. It is perfect!!! We love this puzzle rack for the following reasons.

1. It is one of the only racks on the market that will hold peg puzzles with the small pegs.

2. It hold twelve puzzle - more than your toddler will ever need.

3. It also works for traditional wood puzzles so as your child switches from one type to puzzle to another, your puzzle rack doesn't become obsolete.

4. It is sturdy and holds up to daily use by my active (and rough) toddler boy.

5. It is easy for toddler to remove and replace puzzles on his or her own. Especially nice if your toddler is in the "me do" stage of life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A nice and sturdy "cubbie" for your child's wood puzzles!, January 6, 2003

I was very impressed when I first removed this storage case from the packaging. It is very well-made, colorful, and appears it will hold up to years of use and abuse from storing and retrieving wood puzzles. My 18 month old daughter received 5 wood puzzles for Christmas and I found storing these pegged toys to be cumbersome, so I bought the case. So far, she enjoys sliding the puzzles partially in and out, one by one from the case to select the one she wants to play with. Of course, at this age we help her remove and replace the puzzles, but it sure is nice to have a storage place for all the boards and pieces to be kept neatly together. Highly recommended!

Awesome gadget! Before I had the puzzle storage case all our kids puzzles were kept in a toy box. It was a nightmare trying to keep all the pieces with the appropriate puzzle. Now it is as simple as sliding the one you want to play with out. My 2 year old can get it herself, though she can't get it back in. A great organizer.

I just pile them all in it any which way they will go. The little racks are too close vertically for my son's puzzles, or too wide for his square wooden puzzles. I was disappointed, but at least they are stacked in something for now to keep them contained. I guess I could have just put them all in a cute square basket...

I really needed storage for our puzzles but am disappointed to find that Melissa & Doug puzzles don't fit in a Melissa & Doug storage case. Seems to be good craftsmanship otherwise.

The case does not hold its own puzzles. I have the chunky puzzles by Melissa and Doug and they dont fit in the case. I had to return it because the wires racks are not wide enough. Its a sturdy case but not made for the chunky puzzles. I was disappointed.

This rack is very cute & durable. The only issue I have with it is that not all Melissa & Doug puzzles fit. When I bought it, I was under the impression that they all would. My son has Mellisa & Doug's farm puzzle & truck puzzle. Neither of these will fit without removing some of the edge pieces. If I put the pieces on top of the puzzles, then another puzzle cannot go in the next slot up. The puzzles with the knobs on them seem to fit fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars M&D Chunky Piece Puzzles DO NOT fit, December 5, 2006
By
mmv (Wisconsin) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Melissa & Doug Storage Case - Painted Wood (Toy)
I really love the Melissa & Doug wood puzzles, and we own many, so I bought two of these boxes in order to store them better. I didn't realize until it arrived, that the M&D Chunky Piece Puzzles do not fit due to the puzzle pieces being too thick and sitting too close to the edges of the puzzle. Most of the puzzles we own are the chunky piece puzzles, so that was rather disappointing, but I am sure we will aquire many that will fit in the years to come. Now if M&D made sure that all of their chunky puzzle pieces sat an inch in from the border of the puzzle, then they would fit, but they are not designed that way currently - maybe in the future! Otherwise, a great storage solution!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good box if your puzzles are the right size, November 10, 2006
By
This review is from: Melissa & Doug Storage Case - Painted Wood (Toy)
This box is great if your puzzles are exactly the right size. Unfortunately, many of ours are not--including many Melissa and Doug puzzles. Other than that, it is very nice. It is nicely painted and sturdy enough for my 2 year old to use it as a chair.

It's kind of fun because my son actually thinks it's fun to put his puzzles away now. He's more inclined to play with them and they're educational! But most of all, it's very durable and a definite necessity for storing puzzles. It might be a good idea to go with the bigger one, though. 8/11 of our puzzles fit. The other 3 sit on the top.
