I purchased this for my 7 year old daughter who's more into art's and crafts kind of things then Barbies. She seemed happy to get it and had fun with it. The gift is pretty self explanatory, so the only thing I would add is they the actual item is not as brightly colored as the manufactures stock picture shows.

It's not the bright "Lisa Frank" like colors it looks like in the main photo. The wooden box it's in it actually more of a light pink color then the hot pink color they show, but the beads are a bit brighter. I added a personal photo to Amazon's customer images above to help give a better idea, but even that picture seems a bit more colorful then the actual item in hand. These color variations are not a big deal, but I just wanted to make a note of them so people would know.

We bought this for our daughter who loves making beaded jewelery. She has had a blast making different nacklaces and braclets to match her outfits every day. Even her friends think it's "really cool!" It was delivered quickly, so she didn't even have to wait long to start the fun. It was a great investment with hours of fun for her.

The picture that they show you is NOT the bead set that you get. It is half the size, not even the same color beads or anything!!!! Shady dealings, I tell you! The only thing that is the same is the name, the set I got IS called the sweet hearts bead set, it is just 100% not the same set that is pictured BEWARE!!!!

My 3-yr old grandaughter loves the beads!
-Does not put them in her mouth maybe other 3-yr old kids would.
-The thread ends are long enough for her to put the beads through.
-Cannot thread the hearts - that's ok grama does that and also puts a knot at the end.
-Good for coordination.
-They teach her patience, somethings she will not spend as much time on.
-Colors.
-Counting.
Great product - looking for other things to do when she visits gramma that are educational and challenging.

I didn't know how to rate this product as the bead box I received was nice, but it was definitely not as described. The description on Amazon clearly states "over 150 beads," but the box you get states "over 70 beads" right on the packaging. Amazon customer service refunded me promptly which was nice, but it would be nicer if the description was corrected so people know what they're getting.

I ordered two Melissa & Doug wooden bead sets for twin girls. One came as pictured; however, this set is not described or pictured accurately. What you get with the Sweet Hearts set is a bead set that is HALF the size of the similar sets, such as a Flower Power set.

On the outside of the box, the product states there are over 70 beads, while this items description states over 140 beads. If you look up the Sweet Hearts bead set currently advertised for $6.99, you'll see an accurate picture of what item you will receive. Instead of six large hearts and four separate groups of smaller beads, you'll get three large hearts and only two groups of the smaller beads.

Due to the misrepresentation of this item, I do not recommend purchasing. The other Melissa and Doug set looks great and I like the quality, but buying a large set and getting a much smaller one is very disappointing.

Very cute little set...but it is very little. I wouldn't pay full price for it and am really glad I got it on sale. It makes a nice gift for a 4 -7 year girl but doesn't look very substantial. I thought it would be bigger for some reason.

We bought this for our 5 year old granddaughter. She loves making jewelry with it. We liked the set because it is wooden and therefore durable. The size of the pieces makes it easy for her to handle and are not easily lost like the little round plastic beads.
The packaging is also convenient for storage.

Melissa and Doug, what can I say? Consistently durable and fun toys. Innovative. This set is perfect for my granddaughter who loves crafts, and to dress up. These beads are a perfect size for her 5-year old skills. Other sets have been given to her, but they are more difficult, and frankly, the beads are too small and not as cute. She loves to be a princess, and to make a necklace for Mom. This set allows her both.

I purchased this bead set for my daughter. It appears to be a great quality set. I just know she's going to LOVE it! I love the nice little wooden box it comes in as well. Way better than any funky pastic beads. :)
