My 14 month old son loves this toy.

I hope my kids will eventually play with it more, but even on the shelf, it still serves a purpose of looking nice.

The drill even vibrates when you pull the 'cord' at the bottom!

2 granddaughters + 2 tool kits = two happy granddaughters.

I can't really rate the educational value until I see them framing a door or building a deck.

Melissa and Doug's Fill and Spill toolbox is a huge hit with both my granddaughter and grandson, 18 and 20 months of age, respectively. While the vibrating "power" drill was intriguing, they also enjoy "sawing" the Velcro-attached wood blocks apart and the other tools, too. I was very happy to find a safe and fun set of tools for young toddlers.

My son got this for his 1 year birthday. His favorite pieces are the screwdriver, saw and nails/screws. He will crawl around with them in his mouth and chew on the hard ends on the screwdriver and saw. My only concern is that the red die in the screw driver started to run and leak when he was drooling on the handle so I had to take it away.

My son got this when he was 16 months old. He played with it a few times, but, not like I hoped. It's made nicely, but would probably be best for when your kids are learning how to grasp toys, sort them, ect. This is not an ideal pretend toy set to grow with your kids. The drill is a lot of fun for the kids. You pull the string and it vibrates. But, I wouldn't buy this for babies over the age of one.

There are a lot of reviews here where it states the kid didn't like the toy. However I do wonder how many of those showed them how to use it, or if they use tools themselves? I plan on giving this to a 1.5 year old girl, she likes the other toys from this company, and I love tools myself, I know I'll be the only one to have something like this. I can't rate it based on how a child likes it, because they have to be with it over a spell. From the perspective of me - I love it. The screw/nails have a slot in them, and the screwdriver seems stiff enough that you can use it as one, yet it's not a weapon. The hammer has enough stiffness to pound, and while I couldn't remove it from the box, the claw end seems like it should be able to pull a toy nail.

The drill has a cord on it that when pulled it vibrates. They use many colors and textures on this toy. The one part I don't like, that while they included lots of detail, the ruler isn't accurate, it's not calibrated, and while that sounds totally ridiculous, this is an educational toy and it should be more accurate. Near as I can tell, their 1" is about 3/4" but the concept is cute.

I feel that if you use tools around the house, the child might want to mimic that, and now she can. Plus I think the tools are large enough that they won't be dragged off by the cat. And best of all they make no noise. Not every toy needs to make noise.

We bought this tool box for our 8 month old baby boy. He just loves it! He spits up on everything, so I was worried I wouldn't ba able to wash these- but I tossed them into the washe/dryer and they came out good as new. I have now bought every Melissa & Doug toy they make!

We got this for my son's first birthday. The first kit had a drill that was broken (it didn't vibrate like it was supposed to), so we exchanged it for a second. My son LOVES to play with and chew on the various tools. The saw, hammer, ad screw driver are soft enough that he can play with them without our worries, but have a firm shape. He giggles every time we "screw in a screw" on his knee. He also loves the vibrating drill.

I like Melissa & Doug products. I bought this specifically for my 8-month-old grandson whose dad is a contractor. Grandson hasn't used it in the conventional construction ways - perhaps he will eventually - but he loves these toys and often selects them first out of his toy box. Well constructed and appropriate for chewing/teething.
