5.0 out of 5 stars These are a must have!
Do you get tired of moving furniture to get crayons that rolled underneath? Are you tired of crawling under the table at a restaurant to get the crayons that rolled off? If so, you ned these! They are wonderful! I bought the thicker ones for home and the thinner ones to take to restaurants with us. No more lost crayons! They are also extremely durable. My daughter...

3.0 out of 5 stars not a beginner set
This set included some light colors that don't show up as well. I thought the white crayon was pointless. We've had several break already. It's not a bad set, just the wrong set for my 19 Month old. I think the thicker Melissa and Doug toddler crayons would have been a better choice for us. This set would probably be fine for an older child (I would say 3+). I do...

My four year old son has sensory and motor planning delays. As well as weak muscle tone in his hands. These crayons being triangular in shape work wonderfully in getting him to use the correct tripod grasp when writing or coloring.

I ordered these for my son's 2nd birthday. First, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they come in a nice plastic case. Much more durable than cardboard boxes than other crayons come in. The box is perfect to toss into the diaper bag on our way out the door. The crayons have no paper on them, so I don't have to deal with picking up little pieces of crayon paper everywhere. They are durable. My son recently learned that he can break regular crayons and has spent more time doing that than he has coloring. These crayons don't break unless you've got some muscle behind you. After a few minutes, he gave up and started coloring. These crayons have great color! With little to no pressure, he is able to get some bright, strong color onto the paper that isn't waxy oe barely there. And, of course, the triangular shape of these crayons keeps them on the table. I no longer have to go crawling around looking for the latest crayon that has fallen every couple of minutes!

These are totally worth the "premium price" - my toddler was so rough with her crayons that I was constantly replacing the broken ones. We've had these for almost a year now... and I'm very pleased to say that not a single one has broken.

My son has a developmental disability. He loves to draw but has trouble peeling off the labels on other crayons when the crayon gets dull. These crayons help him with his tripod grip, they are very dense so they last and he doesn't pick at them. They fit well in the durable tray. He can see them which helps him choose and he can get them in and out easily. They also color very well and they don't roll off the table! Way to go Melissa and Doug! P.S. my other son loves them as well. They actually color more now that we have this set.

We bought two of these crayon sets for our kids for Christmas to go with the Melissa and Doug coloring books and have been blown away by them. For years we have been getting crayola of all shapes and sizes, but on a whim we decided to give these a chance. Crayola and other brands easily break, roll around, the paper rips off, and the boxes tear.

With the melissa and doug set, we have only had one crayon break so far, and as silly as it sounds, I just superglued it back together and it has been good as new. The triangular shape is wonderful because they won't roll around on the table and they are very easy to hold. As a bonus, they help my daughter work on how to hold a writing utensil properly.

Another major pro of this crayon set is that it comes in a very sturdy case where the crayons stay put! Crayon boxes are no match for my kids and they take a lot of effort to slide in there right. With this plastic case, the crayons each have their own spot and my kids grab one crayon at a time and replace it for another without making a big mess. Moreover, there are no papers wrapped around the crayons for my kids to strip off and leave lying around either. I love these crayons and have already ordered the set of 24--we can't wait for it to arrive!

I like the non-toxic aspect of these crayons. However, you have to press quite hard on many of the colors to get a good strong color. This is a downside for my 16-month-old.

I love these crayons. As with all Melissa and Doug items, they are well made. How can a crayon be well made? Well, these are hard, so they are not easily broken or snapped. They have no paper, which means no paper mess when the child gets tired of coloring and decides to peel the paper off. I also like the little case, because I can easily make sure I am not missing one...that my little guy will find later! Great crayons. Never thought a crayon would be worth writing a review!
