1. The triangular shape means that the crayons don't roll off the table.2. The triangular shape ALSO helps young children grip the crayon properly. 3. The lack of wrappers means the crayons are easier to sharpen, and you don't catch the kids peeling the wrappers off for the heck of it. 4. The colors are clear and bright, not like knock-off crayons. 5. The container makes it easier for young children to get JUST the crayon they want without spilling them all on the ground. 6. These are the most durable crayons in existence. They're, like, unbreakable. It's not the shape - Crayola triangle crayons break too. I don't know what it is.

These crayons are triangular, so little kids can handle them a lot easier than the round ones. They feel more like plastic than the usual wax material, making them somewhat erasable. They are extremely well made in China by a company that manufactures arts and crafts for kids (Artrain Industrial Ltd. from Hong Kong). The box we purchased from Amazon contains 24 colors and they come in a hard plastic case with a transparent lid that helps the kids keep them organized. They are marketed in the USA by the toy company "Melissa & Doug". These crayons are non-toxic, non-roll and stronger than regular crayons, our family highly recommends them.

I purchased two sets of these crayons. Overall, I'm very pleased with them. What I like: No wrappers!! They are more durable than normal crayons. My kids have broken some but nowhere near as fast as they normally do. The shape and thickness helps distribute the pressue better. The triangular shape keeps them on the table and off of the floor. The color variety is brilliant. The set offers a better variety of hues than average crayons. They are easier to clean off of surfaces. What I'm not crazy about: The smell. I can't stand the way these smell. It's not offensive, just not pleasant. My kids could care less. The case is difficult for smaller children to open. This can be a pro though because my kids can't get into them when I'm not nearby and this puts a damper on any wall coloring plans. Although I like that there are no wrappers, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish some of the darker shades. Overall I give this 5-stars and I will purchase these again.

I bought these crayons for my daughter based off of the very good reviews they received from other people. I honestly can't even begin to understand WHY people say such good things about crayons. They are NOT durable...maybe they are more durable then the thinnest Crayola crayon but certainly not the jumbo crayons. The color is so light and barely there, it's not fun for young children. The crayons feel weird and are not at all like the color of the actual crayon when the color is on paper. These are the worst crayons I think we've ever used and that includes cheap crayons you get at a restaurant for kids to color with. I usually love Melissa and Doug but I am HIGHLY disappointed with these crayons.

I got these crayons after reading everyone's gushing reviews about them. Yes, they're triangluar. However, there's like five different shades of brown in there, and only two shades of blue. There's just one true red. We bought these to use in the car--not a good idea. It's hard sometmes to open the lid (it flips up like a steno notebook) and he can't do it on his own. He's 4. When he does manage to open it, the crayons come flying out because they don't sit very deep in the tray. He asks for colors he's used to with Crayola (gold, for one example) and I have to give him yellow or this gross yellow-brown color. I just don't see why people are so crazy about these things. Maybe the jumbo set for toddlers would be better, but it's no substitute for a big, giant box of Crayola. He's also used them once and the tips are nearly colored off, I don't see any difference in how long they last. They wear the same.

I bought these to replace the triangular Crayola crayons I purchased for my two children - I keep them in the car for outings to restaurants, karate class, etc. so we always have something fun to do. Not only do they have a great carrying case & a triangular shape which helps all of us keep out from under the table, but they are also incredibly durable! When unsupervised, my soon-to-be 2 year old "artiste" managed to break every one of her Crayola triangular crayons. These have yet to break & have been to many an outing with 10+ kids.

These are great. We gave them to our niece and she easily grips them. Best of all, they don't constantly roll off the table, they stay where she puts them. Highly recommended!!

These crayons seemed great- my 1 year old could not open the case, they colored nicely, they did not have any paper to get peeled off, the did not roll around but- they break- I think we have 6 broken crayons now :(- I would not have expected this esp with the promise of extra durability and they just got broken when my son was trying to color something in dark- I even broke one using what I would say would be just average pressure.... So a little disappointed...

We thought that these crayons would hold up to our rambunctious toddler. The color was solid and not feathery like other non-toxic crayons. However, they weren't very sturdy. A couple fell off the table and broke in half immediately.

I do a lot of airplane travel with my children. My oldest loves to color, but at the slightest bit of turblance, his regular crayons roll off his tray and toward the back of the plane, lost forever. I had found a set of 8 crayola triangular crayons, but it is frustrating to color in Dover books with so few colors. I just opened these up to wrap as a pre-Christmas travel gift, and WOW! They are beautiful. The case is made from very strong thick plastic and the see-through lid locks very securely. There is a place for each crayon. I can't imagine designing a more perfect set of colors for travel. I love the small size of the crayons, as they will take up less room in his rolling case. Children who appreciate special art supplies will get an extra thrill receiving these!
