Travel Becomes Fun with Ride-On, Pull-Along Design

Trunki is designed with a child's eye for exploration and discovery while allowing for little feet to grow tired and rest easily. A contoured saddle allows children to sit comfortably, and additional stabilizers keep active kids from toppling off. Horn grips give children the ability to take control and steer through airports and train stations. The lightweight, durable plastic that Trunki is made of will hold up well under these adventures.

If children get tired, simply clip the pull strap onto Trunki to pull them along with ease. The pull strap doubles as a shoulder strap, and additional carry handles are attached to Trunki just in case a quick dash to the departure date is necessary!

Secure and Lock Away Possessions

Trunki features many working parts to assure it stays in one piece as your child rides or pulls it along. Most importantly, Trunki has secure locks that keep your child's favorite items safe inside for the ride. Simply slide the lock down to close and use the keys located on the ends of the shoulder strap to lock it in place. Unlock and lift the locks to open the suitcase again. An interior elastic strap helps secure most belongings in place, and your child will find four hidden compartments to stash any special treasures.

5.0 out of 5 stars great idea, great product April 8, 2011

I brought the Trunki for my 4 year old and was skeptical about it after looking at all the reviews about the trunk popping open. I pulled the trigger and bought it anyway thinking if it didn't last the trip I would return it. When it came in the mail I looked over the instructions and was scared to see special instructions on replacing the latch after it pops off. Taking a closer look at them I found that there is a few steps that you need to take to ensure the case wouldn't open. I made sure both clips slid down and locked them before letting my 4 year old on. I also didn't over stuff it with toys and stuffed animals. It worked great I didn't have any problems with the case opening. (I should mention I did have the saddle on it, however I tested it with and with out the saddle and it didn't matter the case stayed shut. I would recommend using the saddle if you think it will pop open because it would be extra security)

That being said, she loved it. She used it as a seat when eating, played on it while we waited at the gate, and rode it while I pulled her through the airport. The case fits under the seat and the over head compartment easily. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that it doesn't turn easily. My daughter would use her legs to help me turn it and working together it went smooth. You have to slid the front wheels little by little to get it turning. It sounds like a pain in the butt but I was walking around the airport at a fast speed not thinking about it and I was able to weave in and out of people with minimum effort. The Trunki rolls over all the bumps we cam in contact with at the airport. My daughter only fell off twice, one time she dropped her stuff animal and thought she could get it by leaning down and scooping it up and the other was my mistake taking a corner to fast and not paying attention.

All and all I give this product 5 stars, great for kids. I am expecting it to last until my 1 year old is old enough. For the price you can't expect to much but I would say it is worth every penny or maybe worth a little more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best travel product for kids on the market!! October 29, 2011

Hi,
I normally would never write any review, but because the Trunki has such bad reviews I am going to write one this time. First to say, we have 4 kids under the age of 5 and we travel at least once a year to Germany with a 10 hour flight.
This year I found the Trunki suddenly on Amazon.com and was very hesitant to buy it because of the bad reviews.
I am sooooooooooo happy I did buy it.
I bought for my 4,5 year old Sunny (orange) and for my 3 and 2 year old 2 Trixis (pink).
From the start, they loved the suitcase. They where riding it around the house. They also said that these are their dogs.
I read that the suitcase sometimes opens unexpectedly and because I didn't want to deal with that I made a belt for the suitcase.
On the day of our big journey, we packed the suitcases with all kinds of things and made the belt around.
On the airport the kids where pulling the suitcases without any problems. When we had to wait in line for a long time, the kids sat on their suitcases and then drove around on them. People where turning right and left for us and asking where we got them.
After our 10 hour flight the kids where very tired and so we sat them on their suitcases and we pulled them all over the airport. The suitcase never tipped forward or to the side. They fit perfectly under the plane seats and in the over head storage.
Now after we are back and the suitcases where driven around 4 airports, I can say, that this is the best Idea ever.
We never lost any wheels, nothing broke and the snaps also never broke off.
We used the suitcases instead of a stroller and this was a really good idea.
So I can say, these suitcases are worth every penny and make your trips so much easier.
I hope this review helped a little bit, in making decisions about the Melissa & Doug Trunki.

3.0 out of 5 stars So close... November 18, 2010
Durability: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I love this concept, and there are lots of good reviews so i purchased this Trunki for a recent trip. My 3yo son was thrilled. And, admittedly, it was fun and easy getting him through the airport - when the closure mechanism wasn't failing. For such a great overall product, how the closure mechanism could be so crappy is beyond me. The closure mechanism (the 'nose' in the picture) is a flimsy piece of plastic barely able to cover the lid plastic, and even if you do get it closed (a trick), if it is tapped the wrong way - poof, your suitcase is open. Huge product design failure. By the time they fix it, my son will be too big to ride on one, but I will keep an eye on them because without this flaw it would be Fantastic and a great gift for a traveling 2-4 year old.
